Caution-Hanging Light Fixture

CTA1PICT0004

The expensive taxpayer funded lamp fixture at the south east corner of Lunt and Glenwood is going to fall and break soon. And you can thank the C.T.A., and Alderman DoNothing for their failure to fix or remove this danger waiting to happen.

It's been over 4 months now, first this expensive fixture was hanging by two electrical wires, now it's hanging by ONE.

One of the first things they teach you at the CAPS meetings is..." a lighted area is a more secure area".

Does this tell us they don't give a shit about security and safety in Beat 2431?

While the C.T.A - and Alderman DoNothing are busy finding ways to take extra money out of your pockets by raising taxes or rates, (legal stealing) this light fixture remains a hazzard to all who walk by.

I placed some warning signs to draw awareness to this neglect.

But, I'm waiting for an offical response from our 49th Ward Fountain of Misinformation, Beat Facilitator 2431, 49th Ward Up-Down Zoning Committee Board Chairman, DevCorupt North Past President, current Board Secretary, Morse Ave Streetscape committee member, 49th Ward Democratic Board member, DAC board committee member, CTA tattle tale blog writer, Kevin O'Neil, to tell us "the light is working fine". Yeah, he's a jack-of-all-trades.

I'm sure the powers-that-be will spend more time removing the signs than it will take to fix or remove this, Hanging by a wire-Sidewalk Lamp.

blognote:

Tonight upon arriving home from work I noticed the warning signs and hanging lamp removed. Then, around 6:00pm, as our http://groups.yahoo.com/group/paws4peace/ group were doing our patrols, another C.T.A. light removal crew came out to remove it again.

While they were out, I asked them if they would replace the 4 burnt out bulbs the other CTA crew didn't bother to notice? They did.
