Why do community leaders tell us to do something and then not follow the lead? SSA #24 Commissioner Katy Hogan and DevCorupt North Board of Director Michael James run The Heartland Cafe. They claim to promote ecology and all that good stuff. They are members of our 49th Ward leadership team promoting recycling on their DevCorupt membership website. Here is the entry, dated December 10th.

Recycle your Christmas Tree & Receive a Year's Supply of Blue Bags. The City of Chicago has embarked on a major recycling campaign to encourage the use of the City's recycling tools. One of the first components of this campaign is the "Turn Green into Blue" program. The "Turn Green into Blue" program enables Chicago residents to recycle their Christmas tree at a participating Chicago Park District location on Saturday, January 8th, 2005 in exchange for a year's supply of Blue Bags. Please send this on to your co-workers, friends, and family.

Yet, when it comes to "Practicing what they Preach", this is what the Heartland really does. Here are enough trees for 15 households. One thing they are promoting and providing, A wonderful nesting and feeding area for "Rats!"
