Who is Kimberly Bares? Part 2-The Pay Raise

Less Membership Dues equals More Money?

kimberly-at-devcorp

A real Chamber of Commerce works best when it is retail membership driven. "Retail Shop Members" pay dues, Retail members work together to create business and commerce. Real retail shop owners sweep their own storefront, real retail shop keepers shovel their storefront when it snows four or five times a year. They don't make a big deal about it, holding endless community meetings, proclaiming their success. The chamber of commerce and the businesses owners advertise in the newspapers, attracting customers. When this happens properly, the retail business is rewarded by new customers. The street is full of prosperous retail businesses, with shoppers walking the streets and spending money in the stores. The city makes money on the 9% retail sales tax.

The retail businesses then branches off to hold street events like a Farmers Market to cover the highest sales tax available, going to the Chamber for assistance, not having the Chamber force feed a special service tax project to it's members.

Because DevCorupt and not the retail businesses wanted a Farmers Market, it failed. Our farmers market was a Farmer-less Market for a few weeks. The farmers didn't want to come, citing no customers and poor sales. The vendors didn't want to come, citing no customers and poor sales. Then DevCorupt board members openly blame the community for failing to support it's "Pet Project".

DevCorupt North Board Secretary, CAPS 2431 Beat Facilitator, 49th Ward Up/Down Zoning Committee President, 49th Ward Democratic Party Board member, CTA tattle tale Kevin O'Neil could not be reached for comment, he was busy dealing with the CTA about having out dated advertising on it's trains, claiming, someone must not be paying attention to their job.

So that's why in Rogers Park, things work a little different. Here's how.

In 2001, DevCorupt membership dues collected $3,425.

In 2001, while claiming a 40 hour average work week, Executive Director Kimberly Bares files on the DevCorupt tax form, she made $16,667.

In 2002, DevCorupt membership dues dropped around 25%, to $2,645.

In 2002, again while claiming a 40 hour average work week, Executive Director Kimberly Bares files on the DevCorupt tax form, she made a whopping $52,000.

Kimberly Bares got a 300% raise in 2002 for losing around 25% of her customer base, all the while, training as a off-duty, private consultant, quietly planning with the Alderman to raise property taxes for some (SSA), and freezing (TIF) the property taxes for others. Did I mention, the Farmer-less Market is taxpayer funded?

You can thank Ms. Bares by mailing in your property tax check on time. A street full of empty, boarded up buildings that features weekly gun fights with gangbangers selling dope by every CTA train stop needs a highly paid Executive Director/Paid Consultant. Or is it lobbyist?

No. 1: Who cares?

No. 2: Sounds like maybe Bares didn't work the whole year in 2001, and that's why she only made $17,000 or whatever. Could be.

Or maybe 17,000 dollars is all she is worth?

It's people who 'don't care' that are the problem with society as we know it today....too much 'into their own thing' and not much empathy or caring for anyone other than themselves. Too bad...our society is going go hell in a handbasket...

1. Who cares? I do

2. Does she ever work a full year? From what I hear she is lazy and never at the office?

Thanks for the information Craig!
