Black male mid 20's, light blue baseball cap over corn rows, brown winter coat, new dark blue shoe strings. White woman, early 20's with light brown purse following him around. After seeing the man standing in front of the new pizza place talking on his cell phone, he walked to the corner of Morse and Glenwood flashing gangs signs to a passing car going south on Glenwood. Another man joined with him and the woman. They made some sort of transaction in front of the empty store fronts on Glenwood. While this was going on, a male lookout was on the CTA platform.
We need full time walking police on Morse Ave.
Sincerely,
Joe on Estes

Today at 11:50 am on the corner of Morse and Glenwood I saw an exchange from the CTA station. Called 911. Why is it that within 45 seconds of getting on the CTA platform I see drug deals while the Police are nowhere to be found?

Today at 7:15 am after only 45 seconds on the CTA platform, I witnessed a drug deal on the north east corner of Morse and Glenwood.
Where are the Police? None! Who needs the police when our neighborhood is protected by street gangs. Check out their new window display on the corner of Lunt and Glenwood. Are they contributing to the SSA?

Today at 7:20 am I witnessed a Drug deal on the SW corner of Morse and Glenwood (same guy in the red t-shirt as yesterday) with 7 other members of his gang. I also saw lookouts on NW corner of Morse and Glenwood, SW corner of Lunt and Glenwood (by the new window display), and the SE corner of Lunt and Greenview.

No Police during the Rogers Park early morning open air drug market. Called 911

While in a cab going north on Greenview I spot a known lookout on the SE corner of Morse and Greenview. I've seen this guy working the corner several times in the afternoon. I didn't know that he also worked the third shift. He is easy to spot since he has a missing leg and stands with crutches. The drug business must be real good on Morse Ave. It is only a matter of time before a police sting or a drive-by invites a new gang to take over the block.

Today between 12 and 1 pm:
A police presence on Morse Ave. Squad cars on Morse and Ashland and Morse and Greenview, Not a gangbanger to be seen while I went shopping at Morse Fruit and Meat Market. A whole bunch of great people (the heart of Rogers Park) on the street when the thungs are not out destroying our community. Called (312)744-5907 to thank the 24th district for their presence. We need this presence 24/7 until dealers, users, and gangbangers no longer consider hurting our neighborhood in order to do business.

Friday Aug 13 @ 1:25 pm
Gang members, thugs, and dealers have returned to Morse Ave!

They were hanging out in front of Ostermans office cat calling young women, littering, blocking the sidewalk, counting drug money, and looking out.
I thought the office was located on Morse to help stop this negative kind of loitering. I remember the speech Osterman delivered on May 8 when Daley was in the neighborhood. Where is the action when we need it? GANGS MUST BE REMOVED FROM OUR COMMUNITY NOW! Until then, Gangs will run Morse Ave (The Heart Of Rogers Park) while our elected officials do nothing! The good people of Rogers Park demand Deeds Not Words

Sunday Oct. 3rd at 1:25 pm I witnessed a drug transaction north of Morse on Glenwood near the DJ Ranch. When finished, the buyer continued north while one of the two dealers walked to Wayne and turned south, and the other went to the A & L Kitchen perhaps to wait for more business. I witnessed all this in the few minutes it takes to wait for the Red Line. During this time I did not see any Police Enforcement, however the crime on Morse is enforced by violent gangs.

Open air drug market has returned to Morse Ave. For one day CTA construction stops, the gangbangers return in full force. It seems that CTA construction does more to police the area than the CPD. When the Morse Ave CTA station is complete in March, the gangbangers can return for the summer-long open air drug and gun market. Are Gang shootings part of the Morse Avenue Improvment Project?

Are Gang shootings part of the Morse Avenue Improvment Project? Yep......rumor has it that the SSA after getting huge raises and vacations to SSAVILLE upgraded the gangsters guns as a show of support.
