Ask yourself, why would the Alderman have these signs? A Alderman who shares offices with the Committeman.
Could you or I have the city make and pay for signs like these and put in front of our houses, just because dog owners wouldn't pick up their dog poo? And one last question to ask, have you ever seen a car that is only four feet wide driving in the City of Chicago?
Was clout involved? Also note, Keith directs me to the Lunt Avenue address and David directs me to the 7011 N. Greenview address. This is just another "head doesn't know what hands are doing" routine.

Damaged Trees and Privatizing Public Alley Towing
49th Ward Committeeman David Fagus loves to put up signs. In 2004, The "Bella Fiora" or better known as The Fagus Condominium Association", screwed four of these fancy "Official Looking-Streets & Sanitation-Style Signs", into four Public Property trees, in front of his building, not knowing or caring that this could damage the trees!
Matt Smith Spokesperson for The City of Chicago, Streets and Sanitation Department said "this is illegal!" The Department of Forestry didn't like them a bit and removed them. The Fagus Condo Association never returned a email requesting who MADE these signs and who PAID for these 4 signs and who PUT these 4 un-authorized fancy "Official Looking-Streets & Sanitation-Style Signs" up?
Now it is 2005 and The Fagus Condo Association is Privatizing the "Alley Towing" behind his building on Lunt and Greenview.
Not happy with the City of Chicago Alley ticket and towing process, The Fagus Condo Association took matters into their own hands having the "Pirates of Chicago", Lincoln Towing to do the job the City of Chicago is to do, remove cars illegally parked in the "Public Alley."
Plus, this service takes away valuable revenue from the City of Chicago by having Lincoln Towing make the money instead of having the City of Chicago write a expensive Alley Parking Fines. "Writing parking tickets is like printing money for cities," says Glen Bolofsky, who founded www.parkingticket.com to help drivers contest parking tickets in several cities. Does The Fagus Condo Association get a kick back from Lincoln Towing on any cars towed from the "Private"-Public Alley Towing?
I asked the Lincoln Towing Sign installer why he was putting up a sign that towed cars from a City of Chicago Alley. He had no comment.

Where is the property line? Is it that sidewalk or the building? How wide is that sidewalk?
Sidewalks are public domain, and the trees between sidewalk and street are city of Chicago property, da mayor's leetle beety favorites.
How apt, David, calling Craig's blog the "National Enquirer." I love that!
Why would he be interested in getting to the truth when he can throw about scurrilous, unfounded charges? That wouldn't be any fun, and it wouldn't be in the spirit of the National Enquirer.

Okay, Craig, I’ll be the judge.
Exhibit A: No poop signs appear where there is a lot of poop;
Exhibit B: The committeeman is one of 24 property owners living in the building where the signs were posted;
Exhibit C: The signs are available at any Ward across the city (including the one we’re lucky enough to cohabitate with you);
Exhibit D: The guy who puts up the signs at Lincoln Towing and couldn’t care less who lives in the building, pleads legitimate ignorance, leading you ASSUME it’s a cover-up?
Taking all of the evidence into consideration, as the judge in this here matter, I declare the defendant INNOCENT on all counts. Case Dismissed! As an aside, the prosecution is ordered to GET A LIFE!!
Craig, the build is on the CORNER and has four different entrances. 7011 is simply a mailing address – gotta have mail go somewhere.
By the way, what is the point of all your slams? Aren’t there more meaningful battles to fight rather than attack innocent people that are getting caught in your bitterness?
I didn't ask the Alderman to make four specials signs at the taxpayers expense, nor did I screw them into the trees, possibly causing long term desease.
I organize and volunteer my time to pick up dog shit, with-out special treatment. Paws 4 Peace is not only a Safe Neighbor Dog Walking Group, we also keep our ward as "dog waste free" as we can. But we need every dog owners help.
All I have asked the Alderman to do is get us full time foot and bike patrols for Morse Avenue.
About the dog poop signs, big deal. I'm a dog owner and I have never left my dog's feces behind, though I see plenty of piles as I walk around. It's a nice looking sign and it shows people care about the grassy strip. It's a little confrontational but hey. I'd rather look at that sign than big piles of cr*p.
Pounding a nail into a tree is not like pounding a nail into a person. Please substantiate this risk of disease! Even if you smeared the nails in poop before you sunk them in nothing would happen. More disease will be spread when I track dog sh*t around the neighborhood and into my house and car. Where can I get a sign like that?
