Just a thought........If you simply stopped referring to:
DevCorp North as DevCorrupt (slanderous) and Ald. Moore as Ald. donothing (simply not true) you may get more people to respect you. The work you do does not go unnoticed, however you are not taken seriously by many.
Exercise your rights, but do it with the deserved respect.
Activisim is a worthy pursuit, don't ruin it with petty and unfounded acusations.
As you desire people to stand up and use their names on your Blog and not hide in annonimity,do the right thing in 2005 and just refer to people and Orgs by their actual names.
Trust me, you will be no less effective in your pursuit to see RP change for the better.
I would have had no idea this place opened had I not seen it here. Sounds yummy! I never seem to catch the place under the L (Lunt side) when (if) it's open.
DevCorp North is part owner of one of the most valuable parcels of real estate in Rogers Park, Gateway Mall, yet year after year fails to disclose this asset on its financial disclosures to the public, the IRS, the state of Illinois, the City of Chicago, and grant-making organizations. DevCorp North systematically hides its assets in order to defraud grant-making organizations such as the federal government, the City of Chicago, and others. DevCorp North has pioneered the use of creative accounting in securing grants to fund staff salaries while adding little or nothing of value to our community.
While most property owners in Chicago are responsible for sweeping and shoveling the sidewalks adjacent to their property on their own dime, DevCorp North figured out how to do it on the public tab.
DevCorp North speaks out claiming to be community group, and writes and testifies in favor of legislation, speaking for us, when in fact they are a primarily a property-tax funded City agency. Most notably, DevCorp North has consistently supported increasing the property tax burden on home owners, supporting Special Service Areas (SSAs) and Tax Increment Financing (TIF) districts.
At other times DevCorp North pretends to be a chamber of commerce, representing Rogers Park businesses, when in fact they are largely publicly funded, and make only a very small portion of their funding from members' dues. DevCorp North continues to solicit money from my neighbors, neighbors who have far fewer resources then they.
Through their vendors, DevCorp North launders property tax money into Alderman Moore's campaign committee.
What Charlie is trying to explain to you is that if you could just learn to turn a blind eye to waste, fraud, and corruption, as he has, you might eventually be invited to join his Rogers Park Boosters Club.
Blind eye? I can't stop laughing. You should see if your agent can get you on Leno....er maybe you should start with one of the open mic gigs in the neighborhood. Better yet, buy me a cocktail and tell me all you know about me. I swear I will stop chuckling...PROMISE!
Well, one good reason to call "DevCorrupt" "DevCorp North" instead of "DevCorrupt" is that your blog will climb higher in the search engine rankings when people shoot on "DevCorp North."

Corrupt
1. Immoral; perverted; depraved
2. marked by venality and dishonesty
3. impure; contaminated; unclean

Corrupt sounds about right to me.

Don't worry, be happy.
