* Alderman Moore Turns A Blind Eye to "#1 Complaint"

Lost City Revenue
JB's_23
Any Night on Morse Avenue, this is what you will see, double parking by JB's Pizza drivers. Alderman Moore, we are still waiting... after 11 years, are you going to fix this issue? The City of Chicago is losing a great deal of Revenue by not enforcing this broken rule.

"Parking has replaced crime as the No. 1 complaint."

This happens outside pizza places and other delivery places through out the entire city. Including many other restaurants in RP.

Does any body really have that much of a problem with it? I know he wrote a letter and made a promise, but you have to pick your battles.

I for one want the readers of this blog to know that not everyone cares if the delivery guys at JB', or Giordano’s or where ever double park. Drive around the cars and get on with your life.

So, let's see, you own a house on Farwell next to Giordanos, and these double parked pizza drivers at Giordano's have blocked the street, again, big deal right?

Now you have a fire, the fire trucks can't get to your house to put out the fire because cars were double parked down the street?

Do you care then?

You have a Heart Attack or some sort of medical emergency. You call 911.

You have a ambulances trying to get to you, the ambulance can't get to your location because cars were double parked down the street in front of Giordanos?

Then you finally get in the ambulance to go to the closest hospital, located in Evanston and the ambulance is blocked by more double parked cars in front of Giordanos... causing more medical delays.

You die before you get to the hospital, because you didn't get proper treatment in time.

Will someone care then?

You hear an intruder break in to your house and he has a weapon. You call 911.

You have police trying to get to you, the police can't get to your location quickly and timely because cars were double parked down the street in front of Giordanos?

Every second counts, but the police had to re-route the path getting to the location. The intruder shoots you before the police arrive and the intruder fled the scene.

Will you care then? Oh, then you need that ambulance too come again.

I think that we need to give the brave firemen and EMT's of this city a little more credit.

Unlike some, I tend to believe that our city's emergency personnel are intelligent enough and creative enough to perform their jobs when faced with minor obstacles.

If I thought that a city's rescue personnel would leave an emergency situation if they had to park more than 10 feet away from the building/residence they are going to, I would move on out.

Not trying to pick a fight. Just mentioning that I (and I'm guessing others) would rather have our community, elected officials (corrupt or not), and employees working on reducing crime and improving the economy and businesses in RP.

Jim,

It only takes one time for this to be a hot topic issue. It was a slow news day, I cant do Pulitzer Prize winning stuff everyday.

Thanks for reading and commenting.
