* Morse Avenue Open Air Drug Market Salesman-Out of Bounds-Part 3

Exclusive Photos-Caught Working on Glenwood Avenue
Out of Bounds_6
Saturday, March 5, 2005, It all happened in a blink of an eye, the Morse Avenue Open Air Drug Market Salesman, working out of bounds, finds a customer pulling up on Glenwood Avenue. Actually he was flagged down. The salesmen in the hood, was waving his arms to the car to pull up, after a series of hoots and whistles from an un-known person down by Morse Avenue.

It's not the first time I have seen the Morse Open Air Drug Market Salesmen working Glenwood's-east side of the tracks, It isn't the second time! This is a long running sales event.

CAPS 2431 Beat Facilitator, CTA investigative reporter Kevin O'Neil, who eight months ago said, "Are there still drug dealers on Morse? Of course there are. The new commander did report that he met will all alderman in the district, and heard from Moore that Morse Avenue is a top policing priority for him. The commander was a former Narcotics section commander, and promised that gangs and dealers "will be neutralized." He warned though that a good street corner drug conspiracy takes at least 4-6 months to crack. "Finally, I (Kevin O'Neil ) can tell you that Morse is a gang-loitering hot spot."

No kidding Kevin, the hot spot is the 1300 block of West Morse.... it's more popular than ever. Yesterday, the corner of Wayne and Morse looked like a GD homecoming of sorts. The 1340 W. Morse residence and Mama's Fish, the Morse Avenue Gyros, and BelComm Phone store have been very good to the salesman. These businesses allow the Salesman to dart inside for cover, while the police drive by.

Or like in the photos above, the salesmen will cut down the alley in between 1340 W. Morse and Mama's Fish to hide out, or they go to the 1241-43 W. Lunt Avenue property to cool down.

These are the photos Morse Pod is missing. Poor Morse Pod's view is blocked by the CTA pillars and embankment.

By the way... Kevin, who is the new commander and why is it taking much longer than the 4 to 6 months to crack? Is this operation too good?

I could have added my endless web links to these addresses and business locations for the new readers, it's easier for you (ok... easier for me ) to just start from the first post.

This is really sad to me. I have seen an improvement in that no one is loitering on that one corner like there used to be. But I do notice some new faces wandering around the area you are referring to that look suspicious. I think I'll be attending the next CAPs meeting- I am overdue.

Thanks and be safe!
