Man killed in drive-by shooting

A 26-year-old man died last night in a drive-by shooting in the Rogers Park neighborhood on the Far North Side, police said.

Witnesses told police they heard several gunshots in the 7400 block of North Hoyne Avenue around 7:30 p.m., Police Officer Amina Greer said. Moments later, they saw a dark-colored vehicle taking off southbound on Hoyne.

The victim was found lying on the sidewalk at 7457 N. Hoyne Ave. with gunshot wounds to the chest, arm and wrist, Greer said. He was taken to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston where he was pronounced dead at 7:55 p.m., Greer said.

No one was in custody, she said.

Do a closer read of Caputo's article. The difference is minute and the accent is on the dip.
