Everyone who follows the 'Broken Heart" knows Mr. Block. He's the front-man for the two- four plus one's at 1345 West Lunt and 1340 West Morse. Mr. Block has a problem and the Hell Hole wants to help him get the problem solved.
Mr. Block is back in the news this week because he has a on-going elevator outage issue.
His building on the Lunt Avenue side has a broken elevator, forcing tenants, some crippled, to climb and descend multiple flights of steps. You know, the low income tenants, who don't have much money. With all the money Mr. Block makes on rent here at 1345 West Lunt, this measly orange sign covering the up and down buttons is all Mr. Block could afford?
Sorry for the inconvenience... Please Mr. Block, even jeff-o doesn't buy that one.
For one elderly injured tenant, who uses a cane to walk, it's more than she can bear. " It's been out over a week"... "I'm not sure how many more times I can climb those' steps with my bad ankle? " said the injured elderly woman with the cane.
Judging from the sign, Mr. Block is full aware of this problem.
At Saturday's little party, the other guy talked a good game, saying "there's no time to waste", the "Broken Heart" agrees and wants to do something about it.
Not just talk about it like the other guy. Talk is cheap, yet the other guy wants donations to listen. Not the Hell Hole. We deal with issues, not dirt.
So, Let's get this elevator fixed Mr. Block. Let's not talk about it. Let's fix this elevator for the people in this building that pay their rent Mr. Block. They deserve this right they pay for.
Just like Alderman Moore's political adviser David Fagus deserves a special place to park in your building.

Paradise,
The person who most needs this elevator fixed is a police officer from the 60's. She was part of the democratic mess in Grant Park, circa 1968. I'm not going to hold that agaisnt her. She has wonderful and tragic stories too tell. She is now retired. She is afraid of being kicked out of the Block building because I am exposing this injustice. She knows how Chicago politics works. She knew the first Mayor Daley. But, I won't let that happen.
While the other guys want to talk about issues, want to draw up plans, I want this retired police officer to be able to go up and down her building without pain.
I want ALL the tenants to be able to have access to the amenities that were promised to them when the signed their lease and paid their rent.
What is the other guy doing?

> Mr. Block ... His building
Craig,
When you call it "Block's Building" you are helping Moore with his policy of hiding owners.
> She knows how Chicago politics works.
Her fears are well-founded. A campaign contribution from your building's management company to your Alderman is your first clue that the ward office is not a good palce to complain to. Once you find a campaign contribution from your building to your Alderman, these kind of problems can be VERY persistent.

Notice how Moore reported the contribution under the wrong company name "Realty & Management" instead of the correct "Realty & Mortgage," trying to throw us off.
