The primary election is one day away. 24 hours and counting.
* If the number of mailers my mailbox is any indication who will win the primary, Debra Shore nudges out Forrest Claypool 4 glossy mailers to 3.
* Alexi Giannoulias had as many negative mailers sent out against him by the democratic party of Illinois (3) as his opponent Paul Magieri had in his favor (3).
* Aunt Jan (Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky) has endorsed Forrest Claypool at the last minute. Could this spell doom for the Claypool camp?
* All "Broken Heart's" who don't want to vote for Aunt Jan can write in Craig Gernhardt for Congress. 200 write-in votes would be sweet. Don't forget, that's Craig Gernhardt. You can print this sheet out and bring it to the polling place with you.
* The "Broken Heart" will have the most extensive coverage though out election day in the 49th ward! With up-to-date reports and photographs from every precinct. Front line reporting like you've never seen before.
* Don't forget the CAPS beat 2431 meeting tonight @ 7pm, 1530 West Morse.
* Please everyone, don't forget, exercise your right, Vote tomorrow.

Unfortunately, unless Craig filed a Declaration of Write-In Candidacy Form with the Chicago board of Elections and with the Office of the Cook County Clerk, his write-in votes will not be counted. (More than a decade ago the General Assembly change Illinois Election Law to void write-ins that were cast for someone who hadn't filed the required paperwork at least a week before the election; how anti-American.)
I'm still wondering when the sentencing for Schakowsky's husband Bob Creamer (originally set for last December) is to be held. Is the delay due to Creamer singing to the feds? If so, who is he informing on?
Besides helping out Forrest Claypool (which will driveStroger Hospital fat cat jobholder David Fagus nuts), you can also strike a blow for refom by voting for FRANK AVILA with one of your three votes for the Water Reclamation District (PUNCH 51). Frank can still use volunteers for the Rogers Park area on Election Day... just call his campaign office at 773/763-2100 for details, or stop by that office, which is located at 6201 W. Touhy Ave.
