* Re-Develop This

A community meeting will be held for 1534 West Greenleaf property this week. The Alderman's exclusive orange info-mercial flier I have has wrong information I will reveal on tomorrow's Hell Hole. Look closely at the photo today for a special clue. See if you can guess today before I post the entire information tomorrow. Or you call call the Alderman's office and bug them for the information.

You handled the exposure pretty well here Craig. The composition could however be stronger.

My guess is that the flyer states the wrong number of units in the building. Should be 12.

Thanks for the comments. Jim Witts is the winner.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FOR FURTHER INFORMATION
March 27, 2006 49th Ward Service Office (773) 338-5796

Alderman Joe Moore and the 49th Ward Zoning and Land Use Advisory Committee invite you to a
meeting to discuss Loyola University’s proposal to construct a new building on its campus. The meeting will be Tuesday April 4th, 7 pm, Bremner Lounge, Centennial Forum, Loyola University, 1125 West Loyola Ave.

Representatives of Loyola University will be presenting a proposal to construct a building, called an Information Commons, to serve as an addition to the main library. The proposed site is currently an open green space between the existing Madonna Della Strada Chapel and Cudahy Library and just east of the Jesuit Residence. The proposed building contains approximately 73,000 square feet and is four stories or 67 feet in height.

This new building needs approval under the Lakefront Protection Ordinance. The proposal is under review by the 49th Ward Zoning and Land Use Advisory Committee. “I look forward to hearing from the community, and will only support the project if it enjoys substantial community support,” said Moore.

For further information, please call the 49th Ward Service Office at (773) 338-5796.

Since I first saw them go up, I have prayed for the day that the 50/60's buildings would be torn down. It appears that day has come. Hallelujah! Thanks be!

BTW I am not Carol J. She lives near the Adelphi and deserves credit for her thoughts and opinions. I am, however, Carol J. Goldman and also, most happily, Mrs. Sandy Goldman.

You can find the story of Warren Park at my husband, Sandy Goldman's opinion column at http://andthatsmyopinion.com/column_101505.htm

I don't know if links work in comments, but you can copy and paste the link in your browser if it doesn't.

The delineator for the Lakefront Protection Zone, north of Devon Avenue,is the first N/S alley west of Sheridan Road.

Loyola did plan, some years ago, a landfill project, to expand its campus for passive parkland which would be open to the public. No pier, no restaurant, no commercial that I can remember.

After much research, and many meetings, the State of Illinois ruled that the Lake Michigan bottom land belonged to the State of Illinois and it's people and the University could not build a private landfill on land owned by the public no matter how green and public it was.

> Joe Moore won the election to replace David -- I would call both "reformers"

This must some new definition of the word "reformer" with which I am not familiar. How about under the conventional definition, "one who reforms," can you please name one thing Moore has reformed?

> certainly anti-Machine.

Where was Moore on Hired Truck? Where are the hearings into City Hall corruption?

The Sun-Times is doing the job of our Aldermen.

Who you crapping?

The names change, the game's the same.

> a zoning committee made up of local citizens.

Moore's zoning committee is made up of campaign contributors, real estate developers, realtors, Aldermanic staff, and DevCorp North directors and members.

> reformer/anti-Machine alderman like Orr and Moore.

Is being a reformer like being a Bahia, you can be one by simply calling yourself one, or do you have to actually reform something?

Name one thing Moore has reformed.
