* Police Tape Covers CAPS Beat 2431 Gun Battle

Breaking News....
Where Can The Citizens Walk in Safety?

Saturday Morning-5:30am. It's the morning walk with Cota the dog. We can't walk down Morse Avenue, the yellow do not cross police tape ran from all four corners of Morse Avenue and Glenwood at the Morse Avenue EL. We can't walk down Glenwood, the yellow do not cross police tape covered the four corners of Lunt Avenue and Glenwood intersection, just one block north. We can't walk down Lunt, the yellow do not cross police tape covered all four corners of Lunt Avenue and Greenview intersection, just one block west.

Is any place safe to walk around here?

A Chicago Police Forensic van sits in the 1400 block of West Lunt Avenue. No one wanted to talk about what happened. Everyone was hush, hush. One officer tried to stop me from taking pictures. When I told him who I was, he directed me to News Affairs downtown and asked if I wouldn't run his photo. I obliged the request.

So it seems something very bad happened in CAPS beat 2431 again last night. Looks like we will have something to talk about other than double parking at the CAPS meeting Monday night. Then again, maybe not.

Updated: An off-duty police officer assigned to the Terrorism Task Force shot and wounded a man after the man pulled a gun on the off-duty officer in Rogers Park early Saturday, police said.

The man who was shot may have been involved with a shooting in the area just before the incident, police said.

* First off, let's give many thanks to the off duty officer who went the extra mile and a half for the citizens of Rogers Park, well done.

* Will Morse Pod #19 offer any help?

* Will Mr. Block's camera's lead to any clues?

Lawlessness rules in CAPS Beat 2431. Let's stop it. Bring in more of the Terrorism Task Force police. Those are my type of cops!

Sorry Police View but I agree with Craig. Crime has no place in any neighborhood, and the purveyors and practitioners of criminal behavior need to either get a real job or move to where they are better appreciated. Crime, like the poor, will always be with us but that doesn't mean we have to allow it to continue.

Craig, why did you leave out the fact that the police squads arrived at the scene at the same time as the undercover officer did. It says so in the Sun Times story. I think the reason the police don't like you is you do not report all the facts and you shade the facts to suit your needs.

If you want respect from the police, try showing them a little respect. Or, why don't you join the force yourself?
