* Which Headline Was Used?

This week's cover of Pioneer New Star has a 4-color photograph and hot off the presses headline story. It reads:

A.) Homicide on West Fargo. (The Clive Flowers Story)

B.) Man Charged With Attempted Murder. (The Steve Rabino Story)

C.) 4 Year Old Has Star Shine. (The Luke Emano Story)

D.) North Sider Charged in Sexual Assault. (The Joesph Davis Story)

E.) City Mulls Living Wage. (The Joesph Moore Story)

Which headline made the main cover story?

Blognotes Ever since Angela Caputo wrote about this subject one month ago, she hasn't covered one news story in Rogers Park. Sure, this week she again did a fluff piece for Alderman Moore, but that doesn't count. That's public relations work, not news.

Now, Felicia Dechter, who covered the lakeview area for Sky-Line Booster, has been covering the Rogers Park area for News Star. Was there a reporter shake up at News Star? Did the Hell Hole run Angela Caputo out of Rogers Park?

Sorry, Craig, Ms. Caputo will be focusing on City Council.

In a policy that he sees "as the latest chapter in a fight for dignity and respect" among workers since the push for an 8-hour workday and 40-hour work week, Moore said the new ordinance is "cleaned up, stronger" ...

"Wherever they lead others follow," Moore said of the targeted chain stores. "Rather than a race to the bottom, we're setting a minimum floor."

In Rogers Park, the race to the bottom is being lead by Moore's favorite charity, DevCorp North, who has the franchise for the local state-sponsored monopoly on hiring of workers at below minimum wage and making them available to local businesses. These guys would be delighted to make minimum wage, let alone a living wage.

Why doesn't Moore show leadership by cleaning up worker exploitation in his own ward, in the 501(c)(3) chapter of his own ward organization?

The revised ordinance garnered the signatures of 33 council members--but not votes--at the March 29 meeting. But like other North and Northwest Side officials, Alderman Bernard Stone, D-50th said that "he's got my vote," when the measure comes to the floor.

Our spineless Aldermen will sign anything. When it comes up for a vote, they will follow Daley's lead.
