Benjamin Johnson in back of the squad car after being caught (for the second time) this morning.

6:30 a.m.) You expect breaking news from the Hell Hole and today is no exception. Here we have a crash that ended 6657 North Greenview. The person who crashed this car is in big trouble. Oops, I mean BIG TROUBLE!

Stop the presses. I thought he was captured? But now, word is, he got away near Warren Park on the Pratt Avenue side.

Police and canine units are looking for a black male. Blue shirt, blue jeans. 6 foot, 175lbs, muscular build.

He's handcuffed behind his back.

Beware, the subject is a fighter and is dangerous. He's known to take weapons.

More to come.

Timeline Updates:
6:56 a.m Search area for alleged rape suspect who escaped widens. Pratt to Morse, Ridge to Western. Helicoptor has been called in. Call has been made to get news affairs involved.

7:15 a.m.) The alleged offender name is Benjamin Johnson. Age 39. If you're reading this and know people who live in this search area, call them and tell them to close their windows. This person is considered very dangerous. If you see something on your property that is not right, call 911.

9:15 a.m.) Suspect was spotted getting in a car at Estes and Damen, then heading north on Ridge. Area now widens to Touhy to the north and Clark on the east.

9:20 a.m.) Now calls are coming in from everywhere. Devon to Howard. Must be because of all the news helicopters flying above.

10:15 a.m.) The four hour manhunt is over. A couple of citizens (the Mirro brothers) saw him and knocked him down. Then the police swarmed in and finished the job. Suspect captured at 6826 North Hamilton. He was hiding at 2107 West Farwell. He never got more than a couple of blocks from where he got out at Pratt and Hamilton some four hour earlier. There must have been at least 200 police officers at the corner of Farwell and Hamilton during the time of the second capture, or "the recapture" as they are calling it in the news biz.

* I had one e-mailer send me a note who hopes to run into the Mirro brothers one day and offer them up a frosty cold one, if you know what I mean. The "Broken Heart" agrees, I'll buy you guys one also. Well done boys.

Oh don't even get me started...leave it to the fools who work in the 24th district to let a guy who is already cuffed and at the wagon get away! What a joke 24 is! I have said it for years. Now they have egg on their face and everyone can see it. I wonder how much they'll spend on helicopters to try to redeem themselves. Sorry guys, I know better. I've been to your useless CAPS meetings too. LAZY COPS.

The Tribune wrote, "Two brothers recognized the suspect from police descriptions and tackled him in a gangway between two buildings." Way to go civilians! Where were the 40 cops I saw standing in front of Robert Black golf course? Rumor has it that some Armstrong elementary school childen saw a man in handcuffs while they were walking to school.

I drove through this mess at Pratt and Ridge this morning. Funny thing is, Dick Devine lives on Pratt across from the park. The fugative could have hid in Devine's yard!

It also would have been easy for him to find a BDSM club in the neighborhood, we have Touche and the Leather Museum in the old Synagogue behind the Clark station on Devon. The RP is the BDSM epicenter!
