* New Music Venue Opens This Weekend

This weekend marks the grand opening of a new all ages venue, the Waiting Room. The hope is to re-establish a permanent space for bands to play in a comfortable atmosphere. This weekend is the grand opening and they would love to see you all come out and support this space.

In the near future, there going to offer memberships to the collective which will give you 2 dollars off the door to all shows as well as attempting to put together a distro which will feature artists that have played the venue. All shows are all ages and all shows this weekend are five bucks and doors are at 6:00.

This is an all-ages venue, right? This is GREAT. There are so few all-ages venues in the city anymore since the Fireside Bowl stopped booking all-ages shows.

I assume "The Waiting Room" is named after the Fugazi song?

Yes indeed Dan2, this is all ages venue. My guess the name comes from the small size of the room itself. It's kind of like a doctors office "waiting room" if you've ever been inside.

I hope Brettly can keep the yo-yo's from ruining this music venue by not having those un-ruly patrons drink or pee in the alley. He comes across to me like a wise man who learns from prior mistakes. Maybe they will put a couple of port-o-potties by the dumpster or on the roof?

The Studio had those problem issues and more if you read the photo-sign I placed with the blog.
