* Using the Office to Campaign
If anyone didn't know it, here's the little secret Alderman Moore doesn't want to tell you. The 49th ward Zoning and land Use Advisory Committee infomercials are just one political tool to reach out to the voters.
Much like the monthly CAPS meetings.
See, he gets you to come in in the pretense of community involvement. You sign in, you willingly give all your vitals to his campaign. Where you live, your phone number, your e-mail address, etc.
Then he glad-hands the room. He introducing himself. It's not enough he gets 20 minutes to tell us how great he is.
He gets all these developers and their family, friends and co-workers to stand up and do the same.
Afterwards, he deposits the checks from the realtors and developers in his campaign account.
Some may say, this type of campaigning is illegal. That's for you to make the call. Look at the orange flyer introducing the meeting. It's on official city of Chicago, city council letterhead. What's the largest type face on the flyer? It's the Aldermans name, not the project. That type face is the smallest.
