* Cease-Fire Responds to High School Shooting
Dear Community,
As most of you know there was a shooting near Sullivan High School Monday morning. We have heard that the person who did the shooting was a student. We have heard that the person who was shot was a Latino male.
Please join Cease Fire for a march tonight, Wednesday, June 7th at 6:00 p.m. We will be meeting in the 6600 block of Bosworth, where the shooting occurred.
Call Rogers Park Cease Fire at 338-9580 if you have any questions.
Stop the Shooting!

Blognotes: According to news source Chi-Town Daily News .....> "Sullivan (High School) is home to students who belong to several area gangs, most of whom live in clearly defined boundaries. Students must choose their route home carefully to avoid being caught in unfriendly territory."
Cease Fire has another march/walk at 7 p.m. on Howard Street in CAPS beat 2422. The march/walk begins under the Howard Pod Police Cam near the future home of the Gale Community Fieldhouse. The Howard Street march/walk is part of Cease Fire week. (Which, by the way, seems not to be working to well at the moment.)

Commander Rottner said "15 squad cars,"...hmm...well yesterday (Wednesday)-two days after the shooting I left work early to go home. I stopped at Devon Market and since I was nearby I decided to swing around Sullivan and check out the crime scene. I circled the school twice (there are a lot of one-way streets) at 2:30-2:45ish. Classes were letting out and kids were out front. There were TWO squad cars there. There were not fifteen. There were two.
