By Julie Segraves
A nine-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy were injured Monday night in a gang-related shooting near a North Side liquor store. The incident occured shortly before 8:30 p.m. at 7500 N. Ashland, near the Round the Clock liquor store. Keith Gross, 17, a member of Black P Stone Rangers gang, shot the 14-year-old victim, police said.

The younger victim was walking on the street with another girl when gunfire erupted around them. The nine-year-old was grazed by a bullet. Both victims were treated and released from St. Francis Hospital in Evanston.

Police said several witnesses identified Gross as the shooter, and he was arrested by 24th District officers shortly after the incident. He was charged with battery with a firearm.
