* Nursing Home Near Small Park Harbors Child Sex Offenders

Here's a guy who claims to know the ward "like the back of his hand." Under Alderman Moore's nose comes this. A three-story nursing home at 1512 West Fargo is housing four child sex offenders. Not only is the house for convicted child molesters, it's about half a block from Dubkin Park at 7442 N. Ashland, where kids play.

Familywatchdog is an amazing site. I wonder why those four child molesters don't show up on Fargo though?

Looks like an offender or two are housed at the nursing home on Estes.

The thing with Lakeview is that their population of offenders are for the most part concentrated in a few areas that seem to be halfway homes for criminals just out on parole. And there are just as many, if not more, single family homes with children in the area.

This is a problem for many neighborhoods, not just ours. That is why just ranting and raving that they need to live somewhere else is not constructive. That would only make it someone else's problem. While arguing that they should be put in prison for a longer time would help, that will only delay the problem.

I believe that protecting our kids and ourselves merely requires more vigilance on our part.
