* Adams Contributes To Republican Party

Have you all about had it with all these so-called democratic candidates that claim to be independent?

Get a load of what Thomas Westgard dug up. Here we have Chris Adams supporting a republican.

I have to agree with Thomas on a few things about Chris.

I have never seen this Chris Adams at any CAPS meetings. I should know, I've attended over 40 of them in the last 4 years.

I have never seen this Chris Adams at any community rally/march/walks. I should know, I've attended over at least 40 of these in the last 4 years too.

I have never seen this Chris Adams at any community zoning infomercials. I've lost count how many of these I've attended, but I'm sure he wasn't at any of them.

Streetscape meetings, Nope. DevCorp North's SSA and TIF meetings. Nope, hadn't seen him at these types of meetings either. His website seems to be one big fat lie after another.

I'm beginning to wonder - does this Chris Adams as a real candidate even exists - or is he a website candidate made up by the Alderman to divert votes from the other guy?

Oooo...what a surprise that this "candidate" has Republican connections. I have actually seen him, spouse and baby Waverly stroll through the Glenwood Festival and at the Island Groove meeting at the old Biddy's.
He sat next to Gordon and his cabal. He did exactly the same thing as Gordon that evening. NOTHING! He sat there like a stump blending in with the panels on the wall. Sometimes there is no explanation for people's actions such as why is this guy running for Alderman. Maybe he will cancel out the one who casts no shadow. He and Gordon can move to the suburbs and run on the Republican ticket for dog catcher...something in line with their experience and capabilities.

I have a couple of comments. First, it seems like there is no one that is good enough to be the Alderman in the eyes of this blog. It is obvious that Joe Moore is not high on the list. But every other candidate that has come along has been slammed for one thing or another. With all of the attacks (some of them petty), it almost seems as though you are trying to keep Joe Moore in office by discrediting all of the other candidates, which as a new resident of Rogers Park, I feel would be tragic.
Second, if a candidate can do something to improve life and business in Rogers Park, it really shouldn't matter which party he supports.

He and his wife also made federal contributions to John Kerry and that well-known right winger, Barack Obama.

I submitted the same to Westgard. He hasn't posted it yet, but that doesn't make it less true.

Tommy boy, are you now a party loyalist irrespective of whether the politico in question is a dirtbag? I'm not a Republican but I'm voting for Judy and I'm voting for Peracia, if only to send the Dems a very loud and clear message. Give me a politico like Obama who teams with someone like Coburn, irrespective of Coburn's right wing bona fides, to sponsor one of the most important pieces of legislation to move through Congress recently (yes, the other side sometime can do good too). Frankly, I'm sick and tired of the party loyalism. It's gotten us Joe. It's gotten us Fagus. It's gotten us Stroger. It's gotten us Aunt Jan, not to mention Bloggy boy. Yes, the other side has their problems but I'm tired of giving politicians a free pass just because they are a particular breed. No more getting my vote because you are from X party. You get my vote because you earn it, you respect your constituents, even if they aren't of your 'suasion, and you honor transparency and honesty in government. Whether Judy and Peracia will do so I don't know, but I know that their opponents have proven they don't and they won't.

If you're just down with the party, Tom, that means you are just as much a special interest guy as JoMo. No more special interests -- of any flavor! Not the Dems, not the unions, not the developers, not big biz. We are all stakeholders -- one person, one vote -- and thus all our stakes must be equally weighted.

Or are you just engaging in some competitive bashing? You know, what goes around has an unfortunate habit of coming around. James might do well to gag you a bit. Your Rove-like antics reflect rather poorly on him (do I really want to vote for the guy who surrounds himself with someone who's engaging in indiscriminate mudslinging? I've not made a decision at this point but it's a point of consideration). Food for thought.

Future warning.

From now on, anyone speaking on behalf of a candidate will have to reveal his first and last name on this blog, with a title to the campaign if you want the posts to stay up.

I'll answer this question now. I've attended dozens of 2431 meetings, a few 2423 meetings and one 2422 meeting. I've attended a safety walk recently in 2432.

I can name the beat facilatators too if you like.

2431 is Kevin O'Neil

2423 is "Murlat" Scott Jakubenas

2422 is Eve McCann

How many of these people can vouch for Chris as a regular CAPS participant?

Thanks for the laugh Rebecca.

If C,A were this so-called Jimmy Carter democrat, why didn't he list that information here?

Now, when you going to get me that Sweet Occasions story you promised?

> because I've so admired his statesmanship, I call myself a Jimmy Carter Democrat.

Even should he become Alderman, practically speaking Adams will have little opportunity to work on peace in the Middle East.

I'm not sure another statesman is what we need.

You, sir, are no Jimmy Carter.

Thomas- no offense, but now I know why you own a pit bull. You ARE a pit bull! (Please don't "maul" me for this comment)

I think it would be more constructive to build up the candidates we support than tear down the ones we don't. I wish politics didn't have to get soooo negative- it's a real turn off to many people.
