* Celebrating Joe's Accomplishments

"Gale Park Community Center project which I shepherded"
Alderman Moore
October, 2006 - Chicago Tribune -Letter to the Editor:

Remember this date on the Alderman's flier? Monday, February 10, 2003. Remember the time? 1 p.m. If you're not familiar with this time and date in history, let me fill you in.

It was about two weeks before the 2003 Aldermanic elections. At the time Alderman Moore was worried his political opponents were gaining in popularity. The Alderman was really desperate for positive media attention.

He had previously given away free shoes at the Good News Kitchen. Then he tried free movie theatre tickets. And of course the free turkey's at Thanksgiving. But none of that 'giving away free stuff' was helping in the phone polls.

The Alderman had to do something BIG - and do 'it' FAST. Time was running out.

So, Joe pulled out one of his finest stunts he could imagine at the time. (This was before he knew what Foie Gras mind you.) The Alderman decided he needed to hold a monumental ground-breaking to gain political momentum. The Alderman's puppets fliered the neighborhood with the above celebration notice to spread the good word.

That's right, Alderman Moore promised a Gale Fieldhouse celebration. It was almost biblical in sense. Joe shepherded the local kids to stand next to him and pose with fancy golden shovels. The people north of Howard ate it up. This was a proud moment for 'Joe the Shepherd'.

His 'I'm the king' stunt netted him a large 4-color cover photograph in the local News-Star newspaper at the time.

(But in reality, the community and media got duped into thinking a fieldhouse was actually going to be built that year.)

A few weeks later the folks north of Howard came out and supported the Alderman in huge numbers. Mainly because of the fieldhouse promise a couple weeks earlier. In the 34th precinct Joe got 61% of the vote to Harrington's 31%. In the 1st precinct, the numbers were worst for Harrington, Joe got 67% of the vote. This should have been a Harrington stronghold, after all, that's what Harrington claimed at the time.

Now fast foward, it's nearly four year later and election season is around the corner. After three years of nothing, the Alderman is at 'it' again. With the same project called Gale Fieldhouse.

Will the voters buy Joe's tired, worn out act this time around? Will the voters follow their self proclaimed shepherd to this so-called promised land?

Only time will tell. But history is repeating itself - already.

24/7 Toni's Timeline.

Sorry the flyer is faded, old and ripped, but it's really a historic piece of ward history. I'm betting the Alderman wished it never existed.

Ah yes, the beautiful 'Separation of Church and State' that was written long ago. Of course they support da alderman because he'll make sure they remain right here North of Howard. The chums who tried to get TIF bucks for job training for their religious parent, MAC.

I hope the Tribune investigates some of these not-for-profits next. The kitchen and that church promote politicking for Joe. Why a member of the kitchen board (owner of yet another not for profit) allegedly had a BBQ fundraiser a few weekends ago for the shepherd. How blatantly they politick and remain in a tax free state.

Devcorp is still advertising for Joe Moore. They have listed on their calendar: "Alderman Joe Moore's Zoning and Land Use Advisory Committee", as having a meeting every month. It is listed on the following page: http://www.devcorpnorth.org/calendar.html

This group is actually the 49th Ward Zoning and Land Use Advisory Committee.

I did notice that Devcorp did take down the link to Moore's re-election campaign. Thanks Jim Ginderske. But there is more work to be done.

let's remember what joe is doing & not get scamed into voeting for him again, yes now is the time to panic, joe has to bring out the smoke & mirrors! Then after he gets re-elected (hope not) joe gives a big "fuck you suckers" to the people of the 49th ward because we where such dumb assholes ,we voted him in! Let's not make the same mistake! joe has done nothing for the people in the ward, he has introduced two laws that have made Chicago a laughing stock, and when you look at the laws what have they to do with our ward? The others candidates can not be worse then no do joe. This is the time for a change, if the next aldermen is no good we will vote him out as well, we need to do this until we find someone who will make the peoples of this ward have a better place to live and act on out needs & concearns!!

The point is not to redevelop a site in our neighborhood. The point is to get re-elected. A minor stall in the project has not slowed the Moore's zoning-changes-for-cash racket. After all. it's an election year.

From Moore's most recent filing:

Golden Hands Construction
1741 W. Crystal
Chicago, IL 60622

$2,500.00 to Citizens for Joe Moore

Previously:

6/8/2005 $1,000.00 to Citizens for Joe Moore

7/12/2005 $1,000.00 to Democratic Party of the 49th Ward

Illinois State Board of Elections

Does anyone know anymore about the fire in the apartments above Rosa Flower shop, NEXT door to the vacant lot at Clark and Estes?

On another note, i went out to see what was going on that night and TWO men in TWO different cars slowed down to leer, honk, and wave at me in spite of there being about 10 cops and a number of residents standing around.

There's nothing like getting cruised by Whore-mongers at the scene of a fire.

HOPSING60626 You took the words right out of my mouth! I am sure your statement is shared by many residents in the 49th ward!

Tracy & Jancie I thinks it's pretty sad that you two ladys can not walk in you area without getting some perverts insulting you two like that!

Maybe if we get a new alderman in office he can put pressure on the 24th district to start cleaning up the area around clark & estes to clark & morse!

Let's get joe out of office, and make the 49th ward a decent comminity.
