The 'Crime is Down' Report
CAPS Beat 2431. The Heart of Rogers Park in the 49th ward. Two dozen Chicago Police Department vehicles line the 1300 block of West Morse Avenue on a Monday evening @ 7 p.m. This is the third time in one year. Can anyone tell us why?

Run Joe Run. See Joe Run.
Let me guess, Krispy Kreme Grand Opening?
Joe is trying to blow smoke up are ass's!!
Here's a thought: how about Craig and Toni stop posting goings on about the 'hood for 2 weeks, maybe even a month, and let's see what our incumbant does? Without his beat reporters providing detail how would he know what to do, where to focus efforts? My lord, he would be lost. Lost, I tell you.
Joe has had 15 years to clean up Morse yet he's not done it -- except at election time great efforts are made to sweep the street clean. Then, day after election, it's back to same old, same old. Is anyone else tired of these re-runs?
Then, when Joe had the chance to tell the nay-sayers to stuff it re Top Hat development -- that short of a strip mall we should be encouraging, poste haste, development of the street instead of trying to save nasty, rotting facade, he pandered to y'all. And y'all fell for it. You = 1 pander; Joe = guaranteed paycheck for not a lot of work for 15 years. You = crappy Morse Ave. status quo. But, damn, the Top Hat facade will be safe.
Country line dancing with police cruisers???
Carol's right, it's a Chicago Police Department, Roll Call.
According to Lt. Fitzgerald, our Roll Call specialist, these public display Roll Calls reduce murders in the area.
Thanks to Crimestopper 2 for the heads up. That's the proper way and time to call the 'Broken Heart'.
Jeff,
The only thing that would have made this photograph better - having the CTA holiday train waiting at the Morse Avenue EL station in the background.
Thanks for reading buddy.
By the way, they're building condos on that green space at 1221 West Farwell.
Remember 1225 West Farwell?
