One candidate has answered the call. Alleged city of chicago auto revenue tax cheat Don Gordon was the first to weigh in. Gordon has now come up with his 49th ward 'Master Parking Plan,' for those not rich enough to have a private garage behind their house.
With help from Harrington Public Relations, they're out spreading the word. Seriously, there's really not much to the plan. But because we asked for it - we're printing it.
It's a two part- four year deal with no real specifics.
1.) Seek public and private partnerships to build new parking facilities that serve the long-neglected needs of residents and business customers on Howard Street, Morse Avenue, and Clark Street near the Metra stop. This will stimulate local business and attract patrons from outside the neighborhood and city.
2.) Create a Traffic and Parking Task Group to recommend solutions on providing ample parking spaces along our commercial corridors (Howard, Morse, Clark, Jarvis, and Sheridan) and assess neighborhood needs for parking on blocks adjacent to these retail districts.
Blognotes: Here's a couple of questions to the two part parking plan.
1.) Will this be an existing lot that's under used? Like a church lot or Family Dollar lot?
2.) Will this be a new, multi-level, multi function (retail/resident/parking) structure complex like in the Granada Plaza near Loyola?
Does anyone have anymore questions? Oh sorry, I have one more for Gordon. And a simple yes or no will do.
Would Gordon allow his upstairs neighbor and tenant Andy MeGhee all his licenses if Andy didn't secure any parking for the theatre/bar project?

The only opponent that you should be bashing is Aldercrook Moore. If you three challengers continue to attack each other like this, you will end up looking like The Three Stooges, and make Moore look good in the process!
Hi gang,
Instead of poking at the challengers, why not express your frustration with the status quo by joining Soapblox Chicago (free registration), where young Alex is spreading the Joe Moore shite thick and fragrant without challenge.
Alderman Joe Moore Kicks Off Re-Election Bid

While I'm not a fan of scurrilous attacks on Joe's opposition, who cares? If the candidates can't take pre-election Craigy heat then what the heck will they do once they get in office? Craig is nothing compared to our Rocky Horror Picture Show city council.
But Randall is right. We should keep focused and save our vitriol for JoMO.
