What timing. With the CTA in the news and all. With the story being broke by a blogger. Chicago Magazine has awarded one of our 'very own' as best blogger of the year. We always knew Rogers Park had the best bloggers in the city. Guess the secret's out out of the bag? Now Chicago knows. Now we know the power of the blog and the way Rogers Park residents are using blogs to change how officials deal with residents.
Who won you say?
The winner of this years award is well known in our 'inner circle'. In fact, we go back to the old Forum 49 day's - when we would have epic debates over various community subjects. It's Kevin O'Neil at the CTA Tattler. (And we used our REAL names back then.)
Oh, those were the day's. How times have changes. So, so many 'rubber stamped' zoning changes for campaign contributions ago.
But I got banned for speaking the truth. Kevin went on to bigger and better things. The forum died. I moved on and started a little neighborhood blog of my own.
Little secret, I've had a scoop on Kevin's blog once myself.
So congratulations Kevin, it's resident's like you, for this one instance, the reason why Roger's Park is so 'progressive'.
Blognotes: Check out the cartoon drawing, It's a perfect match of Kevin. Full story here.
