* RPCAN Forum - Lakefront Issues

The Question

The Showdown

Here it is. What you all have been waiting for. The classic showdown between Alderman Moore and Don Gordon on the hotly contested lakefront issue. First, our Alderman uses the Iraq war as a metaphor to the lakefront development projects. And also, the now famous line, "The true organizer, Anne Sullivan, is working for me!"

> The true organizer, Anne Sullivan

Last winter some neighbors and I slogged through cold like this ringing doorbells collecting signatures to get the lakefront resolution on the ballot ward-wide. When I was done I called to find out about getting them notarized and was told, "Oh, we postponed that." I asked if the signatures I had gathered could be re-used later. No, I was told, we would have to start over. I swore that would be the last time I passed petitions for this "true organizer."

Ah yes the red tape of city gov't. You don't sound surprised just pissed that your hard work when unused. Been there done that. I did a benifit for the save the lakefront group when I first moved to RP. Anne Sullivan, isn't she the person who was for Gordon and now works for Moore? Does that reflect poorly on Gordon?

Joe didn't mean what He said. He lost His cool. He tried very hard not to but with all of the other candidates drooling to take His cushy job, He's a little emotional these days.

That's why it's important to attend the debates and watch this happen live. Joe is much better live than any other way; if fact, it's in direct contrast to Gordon. Please someone make Gordon buy some stilts so we can see him when he speaks.

Shame on any one who votes for Gordon and not Joe. Now, where did I put my pastry?

Anne was offered another position with equal pay within the campaign because it was felt that her talents would be better utilized in another function. However, her ego demanded the title of Campaign Manager, and she would not step aside and assume another position.

Don Gordon became involved in lakefront issues, and other neighborhood issues when he moved to RP twenty-five years ago. He as helped organize drives to beautify the area, including organizing and participating in the project to paint the murals at the Morse El station, and helped raise funds for a children's playground at Loyola Park, among numerous other projects.

Ann did not come into the picture until after Year 2000.

And Joe Moore has ACTIVELY opposed BOTH lakefront referendums, and LIED REPEATEDLY, telling RP residents on many occasions that there were no projects in the works to build a marina at either Loyola or Calvary, when he knew perfectly well that there were plans afoot and was in contact with Rep. Jan Schakowski, another dissembler, who also lied to the effect that there were "no plans" to build a marina or outer drive extension while she was ACTIVELY moving along plans to do exactly that.

Whoever wants the marina and outer-drive extension has a strong advocate in Joe Moore.

And just how much money did Joe pay Ann Sullivan to come to his campaign? How much of the contributions to Joe from SLUMLORDS and developers is going to Annie's paycheck?

The only thing Ann's treason says is that Joe has more money to throw around than Don.

(The original post was removed and rewritten to correct grammatical errors, sorry. I was writing and talking at the same time.)
