* Saturday Morning Shooting & Triple Homicide - 5X

Exclusive Breaking News

This morning in Alderman Moore's 49th ward, another shooting (crime) happened around Ashland & Birchwood. Details are tight right now. What I saw is the 'Do Not Cross' - Police tape surrounded the rear parking lot. A white 4-door car with temporary license plates had a blown out rear window. A officer was guarding the crime scene.

More details will follow on the above case, as we're also getting what looks like madness in the south part of the 24th district. The 24th is also working a double, possible triple homicide on the 6400 block of Washtenaw! One, a possible attempted suicide. Word has it, he pounded himself with a hammer. More details as they come in. This one should make the evening news.

These crimes are not related. These are two separate crime scenes. Remember, Alderman Moore tells us, "Crime is Down"!

Update #1: The victim was shot in the above white car in the rear alley at Birchwood and Ashland. The victim is at St. Frances Hospital in Evanston.

Update #2: Crime Scene Photographs on Washtenaw and Arthur.

Two locations are crime taped off. One doorway entrance on Arthur has a broken window. News reporters are being held at bay across the street. Police cars and wagons are everywhere. Family members have been rounded up and are at Area 3 headquarters. Police spokesperson Monique Bond said police are still trying to find out how the women are connected. "There are some language barriers and we are trying to communicate with friends and family," she said.

Update #3:Three females were beaten to death with blunt force. Two at one location, one at another. One man in custody. 50th Ward Alderman Stone was on location for some media face time, telling neighbors and reporters not to worry. When the hammer wielding man whacked himself in the head, it's reported he got woozy and puked.

Update #4: Thanks to Michael Luckenbach for covering the police scanner this morning while my scanner battery's were dead and I was on the scene. Nice teamwork. Well done. Major news coverage will begin this evening on the mainstream news. This is blog reporter Mr. 'Broken Heart' signing out.

Update #5: First look mainstream media coverage.

Chicago Sun-Times.

Chicago Tribune.

The hammer head sounds like a career criminal. Maybe a serial murderer. As my mother always said, "Don't hit your head with a hammer, cuz it leaves a bad impression on your mind."

Ah ma, I wish you were still here.

The white car shooting took place on the 7100 block of Ashland. Approx. 5 shots were fired. Dude hit in neck. Reports are he will survive. Police interviewing neighbors said he was a gangbanger. But, hey, good news is that crime is down. Except for the flying bullets at 7:30 a.m. Good thing we slept in and weren't out walking the dogs. Boomer would have thought the hunt was on and he was supposed to retrieve.

We should blame Joe for this to exactly the same degree we should credit him with building a fire station. Mind you, he's claiming credit for the fire station.

The shots were fired at the guy driving the white car around the 7100 block of Ashland. On Sat. night the police set up a road block at Ashland and Estes and were checking peoples' licenses, etc. This is the same place where police did a roll call last Sept. after a shooting in the alley btwn Estes and Ashland. We have a couple of problem buildings at Estes and Paulina where drugs are being dealt. Where there are drugs there are gangs and (crime is down) shootings.

Craig, I'll be sending you pictures soon. My husband got the shit kicked out of him in the middle of the afternoon yesterday on the 1300 block of Chase. I'm going to offer a reward. More to follow.

Craig, good work communicating the problems of Rogers Park to the larger community. Rogers park used to be much better. With Carbrini Green coming down, Rogers Park could become the worst area of the north side. However, the progress of Uptown and Edgewater prove that Rogers Park can be fixed. I was surprised to read about a gang shoot out on Friday around Morse, Clark, Lunt, and Paulina. I sometimes drive down clark street and thought it was safe. The root of the problem is that Rogers Park needs more attention from the city and less of an influx of troubled people. I also think easier parking, more parking structures would encourage more business, bring more jobs into the community. Rogers park could once again be a nice place to live and visit.

Thanks killkat. He's a mess. I think his nose is broken but they have to wait a few days for x-rays. The swelling has to go down.

60645, I hope your husband didn't sustain deeper injuries than those now known.

Just think..... if we don't want to live around the scum who did this, we are referred to as "hate-mongers".
