* 49th Ward New Voters Up Nearly 3%
In the 49th Ward, where Ald. Joe Moore is vying against challenger Don Gordon, voter registrations rose 2.8 percent since the Feb. 27 election, according to the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners.

BLOGNOTES: We've all heard the rumors of early voting tricks and shenanigans by Alderman Moore and his campaign. My sources tell me even the States Attorney is to be looking into the matter.
Take for example, the above building.
I'm told by a source, on Monday, a bus of at least ten people pulled up to the early voting poll place at Pottawattomie Park. They came in with no id's, but they had change of address forms for the above building at 7349 North Damen. A couple said they never done this before and needed help. They were able to cast provisional ballots. I'm told this unusual voting activity didn't raise any red flags with the polling judges on duty at the time. It did with the pollwatcher though.
The building these guys voted from is managed by Safehaven. When I went over to photograph the building, three guys came out and corned me. They were asking me why I was photographing the building, and who I was with. I told them about early voting and they played real dumb. But one guy immediately got on his cel phone to call someone about my being there.
So the question today is, who's getting the new voters registered? Is it Don Gordon or is it Joe Moore? Will all of these new voters actually have a valid home address?

RP dude and Bozhoward2,
Sorry, Your comments got accidently deleted with the dozen anonymous propaganda comments this morning. Try again if you wish.
Does it come as any surprise the 'judges' saw nothing odd with these new voters? They're hand picked by our friend Fagus.
As for the threats of 'why are you here' - as long as you're on the sidewalk you aren't breaking any law just photographing architecture.
Illegal voting is breaking the law. The AG should take the names of those 'new' voters and investigate just where they reside.
Excuse me, I'm just trying to imagine how Fagus would look in an orange prison jumpsuit.
Of course it didn't raise any red flags with the poll judges. No disrespect to the individuals, but one of the judges at my polling place is one of the local drunks. When I witnessed JoMo "assisting" a voter (as I reported in the comments section on voting day) that didn't raise any red flags either.
Sickening. A colleague of mine who owns one of the large, older, well-kept, homes on Chase told me that the other day one of Joe's workers stop by asking if they needed anything taken care of. She said, “Whether Gordon wins or not, it sure has gotten Joe's attention.”

I, wierdly enough, seem to be registered under two names since my move. Margot Hackett and Margot Hadah. Guess someone had a hard time reading my handwritng.
Wish I could get an ID card for Margot Hadah so I could vote for her. Thinking about registering Macy, Bailey and Sydney as well. Hell, they have a stake in this neighborhood and actually live here!!!
About the developer who contributed out of fear.... the trouble is, you will not get someone like this to come forward and state in so many words that he was extorted for contributions, because he could possibly be looking at bribery charges.
I have talked to many business people in many wards, and everyone says that the first thing they do, when they want a bldg. permit or liquor license or whatever, is cozy up to the local alderman and make a contribution. Often numerous contributions. Forget about a liquor license if you haven't contributed to the alderman's campaign fund. This happens in every ward.
We need to overhaul the system-a local pol should not have so much power over local businesses and development.
