A controversial Rogers Park building owner and political contributor to Alderman Joe Moore, 49th, has resigned from the ward's zoning and land-use committee effective March 7.
Jay Johnson, who is one of the building owners named in a lawsuit involving last Septembers' fatal fire that killed six children at 7706 N. Marshfield Ave., cited the controversy surrounding his membership on the advisory committee and time demands from his business interests.
