* SSA #26 Wins Beautification & Maintenance Award

The Department of Planning and Development gave (Special Service Area) SSA #26 its award for the best SSA beautification and maintenance program in the city. The SSA covers the Broadway business district from Foster to Granville.

Perhaps its most visible project is the approximately 100 stone planters, which it replants 4 times a year. Other projects include a spring power washing, sweeping and trash pickup, graffiti removal and camera installations at the el stops. Congratulations to the SSA, to current President Rae Ann Cecrle, Executive Director Thom Jerome and to Sheli Lulkin, Executive Director of the Edgewater Chamber.

BLOGNOTES: I would proclaim, under the current leadership and poor results found here on the Hell Hole, unless things drastically improve, if DevCorp North and SSA #24 ever wins this award, we'll know it's rigged.
