This morning at 4 a.m., a lady in the compact car tried to make a U-turn at 6807 North Sheridan Road, but was unsuccessful. This was due to a north bound 'Royal 3 CCC' cab, (#4870) that was traveling at a high rate of speed. Some say Royal triple C #4870 was traveling 40 to 50 miles an hour. Others claim # 4870 was doing well over 60 mph. Witnesses that allegedly saw the accident were pretty well liquored up, so we'll have to wait for the 'official' word. Sheridan Road is blocked off from Farwell to Pratt. At this moment, we can't confirm the lady in the compact car to be dead or alive. A major investigation is underway.

Yeah, I just moved away from Pratt and Sheridan. Last year at this time I emailed JMoore four times about the speeding in this area. I was almost pegged a few times crossing the street with people blowing red lights. I warned him someone would be killed before long, did I hear anything back? Not a word my friends

This was followed by a hit and run to a pedestrian on Clark at the entrance to the Dominick's. Approximately at 9:45AM. 2 Male blacks (Oh, is that PC? Who cares, it's the truth) 20 ish about 6' 0", thin, driving a small older black Chevy SUV. The registered address to the vehicle was in the 1500 block of Juneway, or Jonquil. Dumped vehicle in a dead end alley and fled on foot. Very, very fast. The vehicle had damage to its front end from striking the pedestrian.
Craig, not sure what your point is? Is your point that all police requests for service should be sent to Joe Moore? Doesn't seem very effective to me, since he doesn't control the police.

However, I encourage you not to ban commenters unless they are really trolls or are making personal threats against individuals. Let your other commenters deal with their bad arguments, their attempts to spead bad information and disinformation instead. I am glad Craig reports these types of things so we can all be aware of what is going on. I see people cross against the light on Sheridan and just cringe. I really don't want to see them get hit. I personally know of 2 people that were hit on Sheridan while crossing against the light. Be warned.
Jocelyn, I have wathced three people get struck by autos in this city, a sickening sight.
NEVER cross against the light at Sheridan & Pratt. People on their way to and from the north burbs regard Sheridan as a highway. Stand well back from the curb while waiting for the walk light. And don't take the walk light for granted- don't assume that just because you have the green and the walk lights that the traffic will stop- one motorist rolled five feet past the stop line right in front of me as I crossed with the walk light.
I think traffic "calming" measures (i.e. slowing) are in order along Sheridan Rd.
Let's face facts, Sheridan IS a highway, in number of lanes, traffic volumes, and actual speeds.
Illegal probable DUI U-turn, illegal probable speeding taxi. Result equals just another Saturday Night in the Big City. Not to seem flippant about a death, yes, the U-turner was a DOA, but, people ARE ultimately responsible for their actions and behaviors.
Not sure what comments are being deleted, but it is very hard to understand how these very common actions (speeding and u-turns) have anything to do with the Alderman.

Dorothy, I think you may have lost the thread here. The quote you pulled about the alderman was in response to a personal attack a commenter made on Craig at 8:17 am, simply to piss Craig off.
If you look at Craig's original post, it mentions nothing about the alderman.
Dorothy- sorry about that. I should not have directed that at you. Others have said that. It's hard to keep it all straight sometimes.
The other thing is: tone is so easy to misread. Usually what I say has a tongue in cheek quality but the tone doesn't always come across in writing. I did not mean that in a haughty way.
Craig did not connect this with Joe Moore - that was my main point. Every time I try to stick up for someone I get into trouble!

What I said was that Craig was drunk and on his way home from a bar, when he saw this accident. Craig then brought Joe Moore into it, saying I'm friends with Joe because I said Craig is a drunk.

Has anyone have an update on the status of the Loyola El overpass that is breaking apart onto Sheridan road causing the traffic to be backed up for 4 block because one lane is in use under the bridge? The site on Sheridan and the updated news was sure sad on sunday.
