The Chicago Tribune reports a Chicago police officer was justified when he fatally shot gang member Anthony Morgan, who shot at officers in the Rogers Park neighborhood, a police review Wednesday found.
Morgan drew the interest of two patrol officers Tuesday evening when he abruptly changed direction and grabbed his waistband after he spotted their squad car, police spokeswoman Monique Bond said. The officers asked Morgan to stop, but he took off running, Bond said. Morgan fired three shots at one officer who chased him on foot before the officer fired back and killed him, police said. A handgun was found on his body, police said.

well, that was pretty fast. if this kid was a known gang banger, how come we don't see his rap sheet out there?
do they have a balistics report on the gun i assume he had on him? does it show that he shot at the cops?
fleeing from the police is not an sufficient reason for deadly force. i don't see how they can report that this is a "good shoot" until they have that information.
i have seen too many liars in uniform. doesn't mean i don't appreciate the good ones out there. but everyone who wears a badge is not a better person than this kid.
i want to see more than the cops words.
You are absolutely right. Fleeing from the police does not justify deadly force. SHOOTING at the police does which is what this idiot did. As far as his rap sheet, I believe that it would probably be illegal for the police to release it.
It's amazing. Everybody beefs about the crime conditions in RP and yet when the police go out and try to do something about it, all I hear is how this poor young man was "gunned down by the police" or what a victim of circumstances he was, or how we should respect all life ,even his, never mind the fact that he was a gang banger from the far southside, or that the police are liars in uniform, blah, blah, blah, blah. Personally, I'd take the word of a policeman ANYDAY over that of a young urban terrorist who came into my neighborhood armed with a gun to do who knows what. Thank God that policeman was there willing to confront this guy and putting his own life on the line. I wonder why he would do that. Why would a policeman go into a neighborhood, confront a gangmember who has a gun and then have to dodge bullets for a seemingly unappreciative group of residents? I wonder if he knows that a sizeable portion of residents of RP don't like him, don't want him there, don't believe him or really have no use for him? I wonder if RP even deserves the kind of officers that these officers appear to be? I'm rapidly coming to the opinion that a policeman must be nuts to want to work in the 24th district if some of the comments I read here are represenative of the residents of RP.
