* Rain Closes Open Air Drug Market

Then the Rain Comes

Well, I was keeping track of four open air drug market salesmen working the 1300 block of West Morse Avenue for nearly 40 minutes yesterday afternoon. This time they were on the other side of the street between the now closed Mama's Fish and the Rider Building at 1340 West Morse. If you are one of those who think these guys were giving each other directions, I suggest you find directions to the nearest eye doctor.

They were waiting for people to come by and buy a little dope. Two buys went down just outside my camera view. I think because one of the guys was keeping an eye on me - as you can see in the photos. Then, the rain started to fall. The street emptied. These salesmen scattered like they were going to melt.

BLOGNOTES: If rain works so well at removing the open air drug market salesmen off the street, maybe we need to go back to the biblical days and have it rain for 40 days and 40 nights? That's should clean up Morse Avenue quicker than that boondoggle security firm hired by DevCorp North.

If you ever wanted to learn how to waste $25,000 dollars, DevCorp North would be the perfect instructor.

I clicked on them to blow them up. The guy in the 5th photo is looking right at you. They were out on the SW corner of Morse and Glenwood at 8:20 this morning. There were four of them and they all had on the long white t-shirts and carried cell phones. My teenage son prefers to sleep in when school is out during the summer, but then again he only makes $8/hour.

Scary. I saw some of them on Glenwood near Cameo Cleaners this morning. They are around alot. And yes, it looked like they were working.

I wonder if they read the blogs ever and if it makes them paranoid knowing we are all watching them.

It feels like they have won. They own 1300 Morse and only a handful of good people really care. Hell with all of the druggies that frequent them, they are probably loved more than hated for being there.

45- I know it looks gloomy now, but my hope is these guys get rounded up - before they decide to bump me off.

Can somebody tell me what Craig does for a living that he always has time on his hands to get this fantastic media?

but is there any gangbanging going on in that neighborhood?

I bet a good portion of their customers are coming out of the north shore suburbs. Reminds me of the drug dealers I saw when I was kid on the west side -- their customers were coming out of Oak Park, Forest Park, etc.

That's pretty creepy... especially that the one man faced towards you is DIRECTLY staring at you.

Boxing tomboy, I'll bet you are correct. I wish the customers would take their dealers out to their own nabes.

I'm sick of suburbanites coming in to my neighborhood and my city to throw up.

Craig you crack me up with all the drama.

They know you never do anything, so why should they bother.

Let's just suppose that one of these guys is undercover. Call it operation Morse Code. The undercover dosen't want to just pick up street dealers. They want the suppliers. Well it takes weeks sometimes months before they get the connection. In the meantime you'll probably see worse.

Call city liquor control if you have a complaint about the dealing in front of Soo Liquors.

I have an idea: drive by water gun shootings! Can you imagine how pissed they'd be if, one second they were looking all cool with cash and drugs in their hands, and the next second they were dripping with two gallons of Super Soaker discharge?

Better yet! Get one of those freaky goo-shooting guns that caused such a stir a year ago. Then, shoot them up with goo...finally, get a picture of them all gooed up and post it to some gay porn website.

Ooh - cop cabs! In NYC, they have police cruisers disguised as cabs. They were donned with flashing lights (and more) but you wouldn't know it unless they turned them on. They just looked like a gritty old cab otherwise. We should have those here!

I don't like those guys. Not one bit.
