After last weeks stunning performance in Italy, Patrick finished in a disappointing 7th place yesterday in the European Championships in Poland. He finished in 6th place for the
world championships today. On to the Czech Republic next week.

Some things need to be kept secret. But here's a portion of Patrick's e-mail report I'd like to share with you.
Hey Circie - (that's his nick-name for me) " It seems like I'm get a little more attention being from the USA, and that adds a lot of pressure on me. So its been tough.
Plus, it feels a little bit weird being the only American - but I try not to think about that and just ride how I know how to.
Since it has been so long since an American has competed at world rounds, most people think that there is no one good in America, so it is really surprising for them to see someone doing well."
Pat's also bored to tears when he's not on his bike practicing. He's not yet accustomed to the different cultures. Maybe I need to get him to spend a few weeks in Rogers Park?
Still, this will be one hell-of-a summer vacation story when he goes back to school in the fall.
Patrick is one cool kid who is getting a wonderful chance to see the world.
