The Trib reports a Rogers Park teen was charged with a weapons offense after he accidentally shot himself in the groin while he was riding his bike with a gun tucked in his waistband, authorities said.
Cook County Circuit Judge Laura Sullivan set bail Wednesday at $60,000 for Patrick Jefferson, 19, of the 1600 block of West Jarvis Avenue, who was charged with unlawful use of a weapon.
Jefferson was shot while riding in the 1500 block of West North Shore Avenue just after midnight Tuesday, prosecutors said.
Jefferson was recovering in the hospital and did not attend court.
