* Chicago Police Search Lake For Something

After the first rain and wind blast that rolled through the area, I ventured out to survey the extensive damage. I got sidetracked. Suddenly a call went out for a possible rescue on the lake near Pratt Avenue beach. What knuckle-head would possibly want to battle the lake under such treacherous conditions? I wanted to find out. I went to the pier hoping to find one of those ace lifeguards performing miracles. Instead, the lifeguards were huddled some hundred yards from shore, leaving the potential rescue to the pros. No word if this was a actual rescue mission or false alarm - I decided to get the hell off the pier before the next storm rolled through.

What idiot is nosy enough to want to go check it out in the middle of a storm?

Actually Dick-wad, this was nothing.

Over the weekend while competing in a motorcycle competition near Platteville Wisconsin, a small creek we crossed a hour before rose 4 feet in height when we had to cross it again later in the competition.

Now that was freaking hairy.

But, unlike a lot of you mutts, we didn't need to call some public official to help us out, we found a way across the raging waters by ourselves.

Although I found out when I got back to Chicago three people had died just miles from where we were riding when a road washed away.

The lifeguards are pros, willing to risk their lives for the safety of others. Do you always need to find a way to land a dig on someone?
