* Storm Pummels Rogers Park
Today at 3:45 PM a massive thunderstorm rolled through Rogers Park knocking down trees and electrical power lines. Greenview between Estes and Touhy has a downed power line, closing traffic in both directions.
A tree branch crashed down on the red car in the 1400 block of West Farwell - and a tree fell on the van in the 1600 block of West Albion. The police are basically playing foresters and electricians this evening keeping track of all the fallen trees and electrical lines. If you've got a power line or tree that's down, let us know. I'm going out for round two, I'll be back with a update later.

All this rain is great, it get's rid of all the urine smells in the alley's and keeps the white t's in their section 8 housing.
The country has been dry too long! The past several winters the amount of snow has been extremely low!
All that snow help our crops grow and get ready for Springtime!
You can probably go outside tomorrow when the sun rise, dig with a shovel and find dry soil in less than 5 inches!
While I am sorry to see tree branches on someone's car......I love the rain!
Holy Cow!!! I got to my last clients house at 3:30 this afternoon. One of the spouses had taken a sick day, but decided they needed me anyway.
I told the client that the sky was looking sketchy, that I would take the dog out until I heard thunder or saw lightening. His retort was "You won't be out long." Four blocks later, I saw something I have never seen before. A giant wall of blackheads, similar to "The Day After Tomorrow." In the front was a funnel cloud forming, very large and very low. I was so fascinated by the cloud, that it took me a moment to get my wits.
When I did, I debated whether my cell would take a decent picture, should I call this in and to whom, will I escape out of this alive and who will take care or my dogs if I don't. I chose to run, really fast, back to the client's house.
A tree, we had passed moments ago, had lost a limb and part of the trunk. There were huge tree limbs everywhere. The wind, have no idea of the intensity swirled rain and debree around us. The dog I was walking was as frightened as I was.
Clearly, we got back safe and sound, but remember this when you hire a dog walker. They are out in horrible thunderstorms, blizzards, excessive heat, excessive cold and constant rain to take care of your dog. Will your babysitter do that? Would you complain if she had to cancel?
It's Joe Moore's fault.
I had the misfortune of being on LSD between Belmont and Fullerton when tree limbs starting smacking my car. Not fun! Worse still, the dogs were at home and we couldn't get home for hours. But we did get a call from a neighbor telling us that a tree had fallen across our front yard, blocking access to our house. Not good. But in the scope of things it could have been much worse. Hope everyone is ok.
I agree. It's Joe Moore's fault.
You guys are on to something. I'm sure all of Joe's lying has got to do something with this. My grandma told me years and years ago, when Joe's lying, gods crying. Man was god wailing up a storm last night.
Wonder what whopper of a lie Joe told someone yesterday?
As of 7:30 am, there's a tree branch completely blocking the 1200 block of farwell.
I noticed more limbs down this morning on my way to work. Yesterday, I got off the Loyola L just as it started pouring. I might as well not had an umbrella, because I was soaked by the time I got to my apartment.
