* Westgard Causes a Dangerous Situation in Loyola Park

ChitownRog said...> "Nice work dumb-ass. You filled a mud puddle with more mud? That has to be one of the dumbest wastes of time ever. Seriously, now if the city does decide to fix the asphalt walkway, they've to dig your mud out first. That's assuming they get there before it rains a couple times.

Did you really dig a trench too? Someone is going to break an ankle and you're going to get sued. I'll go ahead and assume you did this for the altruistic reasons you state and not out of spite. You are, after all, a good comrade. You really should've thought this one out a little more.

BLOGNOTES #1: Yes Chi Town Rog, Joe Moore's behind-the-scenes Park's Supervisor Tommy Wee-Wee dug a trench in Loyola Park.

A trench deep enough for anyone who unsuspectingly steps in it to break an ankle.... Or twist a knee.... Maybe dislocate a hip.... You get the picture.

This trench is about 5 inches deep and it's about 15 feet long - with a slight bend. I'll let the community nit-wit explain what he did.

Said the Nit wit.....> " I dug a trench approximately six inches wide and fifteen feet long, over to a low-lying area."

BLOGNOTES #2: There you have it. Tom Westgard readily admits to damaging Chicago Park District property. It's not only damaging - it's dangerous!

BLOGNOTES #3: I believe Tommy didn't follow Chicago Park District rules and regulations either by NOT filling out a park district waiver before doing any work on park district property. Did you know anyone who works with tools on Chicago Park District property is suppose to sign such waiver?

BLOGNOTES #4: Tommy, as usual, didn't think this one through. Much like our current leadership. Tommy was just following suit. That's what ducks do.

And what did the community goof-ball say on his own blog? He admitted his lapse in judgment with the public's safety. He said....> "You're right - I hadn't thought about it."

BLOGNOTES #5: You'd think, if Joe's comrade wanted to be a real leader instead of a follower, he would've removed all the dead branches I reported on yesterday. These branches are still lying all around Loyola Park. A park that as of today, still looks as crappie as it did yesterday.

BLOGNOTES #6: Only worse. There's a dangerous trench Tom Westgard dug.

BLOGNOTES #7: Can Loyola Park get any nastier? Stay tuned tomorrow.

Did Westgard violate Park district rule? Read below.

The Chicago Park District provides a variety of volunteer stewardship opportunities. What to Expect on a Stewardship Workday: Each workday involves a brief tour of the site, a brief orientation, and a work project. Volunteers work closely with a seasoned site steward. Workday activities may include: cutting brush, removing invasive plant species, collecting native seeds, planting native species, and mulching trails.

Some tips for a satisfying workday experience: Always dress for the weather with long pants, sturdy shoes and sun/wind/rain protection and bring water. Tools, gloves and snacks will be provided. For more information contact the Volunteer Stewards listed below or call the Chicago Park District Volunteer Stewardship Coordinator at 312-742-4072.

Other specific requirements are listed for each workday.

As close as this guy is to Joe Moore, you would think it would only take one call to the alderman's office to have this situation resolved. Shows just how screwed up things are in RP.

e!, you're assuming that Joe even cares about those who so vigorously kissed his behind during the last election. He doesn't. No need to any more. At least not for another four years.

Maybe you boys can help straighten this out for me. (Tommy isn't talking to me right now. I think he's in one of his moods!) What I don't understand is why the park so badly needs my Tommy to fix it. Tommy told his father and I that if he worked really hard and ate all his vegetables that his little friend would get elected and his little neighborhood would get all cleaned up!

Will one of you please ask Tommy to put down his little shovel and call his mommy?

As close as he is to Joe Moore...the point people is that instead of bitching this guy acted. Just like the owner of this blog when he planted or had trees planted. Sometimes one must simply DO and not wait for the slow wheels of city govt to turn. But since you boys don't like each other it's a big deal. I like all of your blogs better when you not so up each others rear, that goes for Craig, Tom Mannis and Westgard. Why don't the three of you sell ticket for your fave cause and have a caged match.

You just don't appreciate heroism, Couch Captain.

if westgard wants to do something productive there is definitely something he could do that wouldnt get him into trouble
i think you know where im going with this.

He could singlehandedly vanquish the long suffering pile of rubble that lies in plain view by the morse bus station across from the block building of hell,

who would criticize such a bold move? who would even notice?
it would be a lateral move for most people and only the GRAVEL huggers would get super super pissed.

damn gravel huggers.

Westgard actually dug a little bit of mud out of a slight depression in the pavement. No hole; nothing was filled, BUT he did dig a small ditch, just big enough for someone to break their leg in. For details, please see http://rogersparkbench.blogspot.com/2007/08/thieving-ditch-digger.html. Thanks Craig!
