* What People Do With Those Guns

• A Citgo gas station at 7138 N. Sheridan Rd. was robbed by a man in his late 30s around 4 a.m. Aug. 15. One of the employees was outside putting air in his tires, while another employee was behind the counter working the cash register. A man in his late 30s followed the victim back inside the store and behind the counter and pointed a handgun and ordered both victims to go into a storage closet behind the counter and get on the floor. He closed the door and grabbed $500 cash from the register. The man also got another $50 after he grabbed the victims' wallets.

• A 26-year-old man walking through an alley on the 7400 block of North Seeley was allegedly robbed by another man around 12:50 a.m. Aug. 8. The victim told police that the man approached him on a mountain bike and lifted up his shirt revealing a handgun in his waistband. The man took the gun out and pointed it at the victim and told him to hand over his wallet, police said. After the man rifled through it, he gave the wallet back to the victim and said, "I thought you were someone else." The man took off on his bike and the victim called police. Police drove through the area and spotted a man who matched the robber's description. When the man ignored police requests to stop, the cops chased him in their car and caught him on the 7300 block of N. Winchester. Mohammad Williams, 31, of the 15000 block of S. Loomis, was charged with attempted armed robbery. No court information was available.

• An ice cream vendor was robbed on the 7300 block of North Honore Street around 7 p.m. Aug. 11 by a male in his early 20s and a female in her mid-teens. The female was pretending to buy ice cream when the male approached the victim from behind and displayed a handgun. The victim handed over $260 and both robbers fled southbound on Honore.
