* What's A Narcotics Dispersal?

At 2:55 PM, a radio call (police to police squad) came across the wires for a narcotics dispersal of two individuals in the 1300 block of West Morse Avenue. The squad then gives the officer a code number in return for the dispersal.

Sometimes a police officer on the street will ask for one of these dispersal code numbers in a area outside the specified zone - and the squad won't have a special code number to give them in return.

BLOGNOTES: Quick question for any officers reading the site. If you know they've got narcotics on them, why not make an arrest? Why just move them to another corner outside the code zone?

What a joke. The systems used to peddle drugs on the street are well documented. Hey Sarg., read a book, talk to other cities -- plenty of tested strategies to choose from. If the police are at such an disadvantage and must follow the rules, then why is there not open street-level dealing EVERYWHERE?

Why won't the officer make the arrest? Because the officer doesn't want to deal with the PAPERWORK!

For each arrest you're looking at minimum 3 hours of paperwork. The officer would rather be cruisin' around, people watching - not in a police sort of way - then back at the precinct pushing paper.

Commonsense, you obviously know how police operate here. Oh wait... there are no "precincts" here. Wow. You failed CPD 101. Why don't you attempt to have a small bit of information about what you are talking about before you make your comments about MCC 8-4-015.
