* Fire @ Pratt and Ashland (Update 2X)

Exclusive 'Broken Heart' Live on Location Blogging

Tonight at 6:40 p.m., a fire broke out at 1652 West Pratt, causing Pratt to be blocked off from Ashland to Clark. Mobile Fire Command is on site and the brave men from the Chicago Fire Department are battling the first floor fire as we speak. The Chicago Police are diligently holding back the automotive and human traffic from getting anywhere near the scene.

Update #1 - 7:05 p.m. A couple of fire trucks are pulling away and the fire is under control. Streets still blocked. Owner of apartment complex is on-site.

Update #2 - 7:45 p.m. While the fire was being put out, a tree branch broke and Street and Sanitation was called to fix the matter.

That's a great picture.

That perspective makes me want to climb the ladder.
