* Joe Moore Caught doing the E-Street Shuffle

Okay, if you don't like the headline - you come up with one.

Hi Craig,

Thought you would enjoy these cell phone shots of Joe Moore at the Bruce Springsteen show Sunday.

Funny, either Joe Moore is a Springsteen friend or he's used to accepting premier seats from one of his political backers. JM was sitting in the fourth row to the side (the floor was gen admission) in a section filled with VIPs from the promoter, band management, etc. So it's safe to say, Joe wasn't dialing Ticketmaster at 10 a.m. Saturday the day tix went onsale like the regular folks.

It's a pattern for JM. A few years ago he was spotted in the second row at a Springsteen show in Rosemont. Think he bought that pair of tickets too?

We all know politicians accept favors from connected friends: Bulls tix, fancy dinners, big concerts, etc. I guess this was interesting to note because both times I've been to Springsteen shows, here's JM at both, in better seats of course.

Is there a law that addresses graft? Or does JM need to prove he bought these tix legit?

Regardless, it was funny to see him hopping up and down, pumping his fists, and singing into the face of his, very embarassed girlfriend.

And there was some kind of irony of seeing JM sing these lyrics to a buddy two seats down, "Poor man gonna be rich/rich man's gonna be king/and the king ain't satisfied until he rules everything."

Yuck!

Moore's Hot Tix Booth

The Boss in Chicago is a JAM Production, owned by Jerry Mickelson. JAM courts the City for access to City-owned venues including the Pritzker Pavillion in Millennium Park, the Skyline Stage on Navy Pier, and the former Meigs Field.

Two Mickelson brothers Jonathan and Julian are the real estate division of the Mickelson empire. For example, the Mickelsons used to own the building on the SE corner of Jarvis & Glenview, directly across the street from Moore's ward office. They are members of the Rogers Park Builders Group. The Mickelsons have ownership interests in the Riviera, the Park West, and the Vic.

The Mickelsons are major, regular Moore supporters.

That's all these cheapskates can afford with all the money they are making. Hell, I wouldn't even put my name on an envelope with that little cash in it.

Seems Joe can't go anywhere without watching his back though it must be nice to get freebies.

Speaking of freebies, I read an article that some influential bloggers can garner perks. For instance, food bloggers have been courted by chefs by having their meals comped in hopes for a favorable review. In the same article, a Chicago restaurant shelled out a couple of thousands for an event for Yelpers.

Craig and bloggers, what's your best freebie?

joe is a huge fan of the boss. he has seen him 20+ times.
afaik, ethics rules in chgo being what they are, a couple of good tickets are probably legal. hell, my next door neighbor occasionally gives me a pair of blackhawk tickets in the front row. is that a crime?

The thing that bothers me is the way jm behaves I can't really believe he is a true fan. Bruce would be disappointed. jm wants so badly to fit in he couldn't possibly have turned away these tickets because as I said he wants to be in the IN CROWD
Even if he sees Bruce he never will be in the In CROWD in my book

One hopes that Joe did not accept freebie tickets from a business that has or will need Joe's (or any other alderperson's) vote on any matter. When are we REALLY going to clean up Chicago politics and make the city a model of probity instead of allowing for same old same old because, hey, everyone does it? I deal with people in the investment business all day; if I accepted stock from them, I'd be fired. How come politicos get to cross ethics lines that aren't permitted in the rest of the world?

Accepting tickets from the neighbor is WAY different than accepting tickets from someone where you will make decisions that impact that business. Been there has warped sense of ethics.

Anyway, it's all bs because alderbeasts don't have to declare gifts and file ethics reports so we'll never know will we?
