Hey Craig:
So there you have it. No packaged goods sales at 7- Eleven. Joe acquiesced to the will of the people because of the attention to the situation driven by the bloggers.
Not the mainstream media. The bloggers made this happen. Especially the Broken Heart and the Bench.
Thank God (and Google) for blogging and the Internet to effect change in local government in a way that was not previously possible. It started (at least here) with the CAPS-RP email list - then Forum49. But the Broken Heart broke new ground by doing it on a blog. Congrats!
Signed,
Happy Camper on Pratt

CREDIT BOTH OUR ALDERMAN, FELLOW NEIGHBORS AND THE BLOGGERS FOR SOLVING THIS ISSURE-
BELIEVE THIS IS THE MOST POSTIVE DECISION OUT OF OUR WARD OFFICE SINE THE REELECTION-
WE NEED MORE OF THIS KIND OF ACTION FOR THE CITIZENS OF THE 49TH-
MORE THANKS TO THE BLOGERS AND THUMBS UP TO OUR NEIGHBORS-
This is very good news. The neighbors deserve the most credit for putting this together.
boxing you are 100% correct, it was the neighbors who expressed their feelings about the issue.
Just remember when joey runs for re-election he will do one of his famous spins on this issue makeing him stand out as the hero of the people!
By next election he'll lie to the dumb voters and tell them it was all his doing.
From previous results, I'm guessing the dumb voters will believe him.
REMEMBER THE ALAMO!
THE ROGERS PARK COMMUNITY DID A GOOD JOB!
NO MOORE WAS FINALLY FORCED TO DO WHAT HIS CONSTITUENTS REQUESTED.
HE ISN'T VERY GOOD AT THIS BUT MAYBE WE ARE SEEING SOMEONE WHO MIGHT BE FINALLY WILLING TO GROW UP!
Who posted all those signs?
Tom Mannis at the Bench.
I would like to know something. I used to live in Rogers Park (Fargo and Damen). I was assaulted by a gang (punched a few times, but escaped (unharmed but shaken). I returned to the area twice since looking for signs that all the talk of the neighborhoods in Rogers Park were improving. I did not see any of it outside of the construction going on at the Howard L stop. Why do some areas of Rogers Park seem (or are) gang-fested sinkholes? I'm seen many neighborhoods in Chciago clean up and pull together and Rogers Park strikes me as an area that would be easy to improve. I stayed in Rogers Pk. for 5 years because of all the talk of gentrification and improvement, not that I'm entirely for or against it, but I had hope at least some of the areas would feel or be safer, but it seems like it's not the case, or is that just me??
also, my names Gene Skala and I posted awhile back "that I thought the are should be bulldozed". Although the term "Bulldoze" is harsh I admit, what I meant to say that I thought that felt that some areas of Rogers Park (morse area, damen/howard, howard L area, etc.) needed a complete overhaul, not just a dressing up. It seems that DevCorp's best solution was to put up fresh wallpaper and put up air fresheners instead of fixing the underlying problems that seem to keep seeping through the cracks.
thanks for your time
Gene Skala
