No meeting. No warning. No nothing. Sound familiar? It's business as usual under Joe Moore. Let's have a little fun with this stealth tear-down project. Here's a five question quiz.
1.) What's the location of this single family home?
2.) Why wasn't there a community warning?
3.) Why was it torn down?
4.) What's going to replace it?
5.) Is this a good or bad tear-down project?
Winner will be announced tomorrow. Need not be present to win.

QUESTION SIX-
HOW MUCH POLITICAL DONATION DID HE GET???
It's not out of the realm of possibility that the Alderman's office was not informed. I have known that to happen before. But it seems unlikely being that this was done by an established business (JBAlbertos I believe).
The house is beside JBs on Morse.
Maybe as JBs is a longtime pretty good business on Morse, they were given some leeway. Of course, I am just speculating.
I'm not sure what will be done there-maybe some parking for delivery drivers as part of it though. I'd say it may be good as that property was in very bad shape and since Morse is a more commercial street, I don't mind seeing it gone.
Looks like the house next to JB Alberto's.
a parking lot would definitely be a good thing as there's always at least three cars sitting in front of jbs with their trunks up - makes it all look really junky. my first impulse is always to wonder who's selling what out of their trunk before I remember that they work there for jbs.
I say good riddance! This particular house was beyond rehabbing. It was an eyesore and a, I believe, a hangout for the bad guys.
Let's hope whatever goes into this space is another step in the right direction.
maybe the notice was given so long ago, you have all forgotten it.
people do still have property rights, tho. so maybe the answer is, because it was actually none of you business.
Nice contribution, been there. How's that bag of downers holding up?
JB Albertos owns the property and the one next to it, I'm told, and I would hope they are making parking for their delivery drivers. I would also hope that it is because they were told that Morse Ave. is not a parking lot for their delivery drivers and that letting them park on the street indefinitely would no longer be tolerated. But I doubt that happened. Does this bother anyone? I mean they're all standing next to their cars too, taking up half of the street. Between that, the open air drug market, and the other loitering that goes on, I feel like someone's gonna jump out in front of me when I drive through there.
Craig, aside from the politics, payoffs, developers, Joe Moore, and none of them caring about how many houses they tear down, you don't think this house should have stayed there do you? I mean I'm with you on all the others, but this one didn't need saving. Though leaving it there is certainly better than adding another commercial entity with no parking.
