I see the Loyola Campus police cars on Howard street all of the time. I always wonder what the hell they are doing all of the way up there. Buying Drugs or just delivering them? Discuss.
to your 'knowledge', do you know if any Loyola students live "up there" near Howard?
Last I checked a large number of students live off campus between the areas of Hollywood/Clark/Howard.
Now, if you take the time and really think about those parameters I just noted above you would see that is a relatively large area...
You indicate class rooms in your response.... Are you suggesting that a task force by LP be implemented so that patrol be strictly limited to areas of Loyola governance? If thats the case then LP should venture no farther than Loyola Ave/Lakewood/Granville, since these are where Loyola's properties exist.
RP is not a very safe neighborhood. Add the fact that those who commit assault are aware of the wealthy student body, it seems natural that students will be prone to cases of assault.
In my perspective, it comes down to the law of large numbers; some kids will get assaulted many will not, there is not a damn thing LP, the schools newspaper, or any 'activists' can do to prevent this reality.
