Scanner News: Timeline 6:40 AM until 7:20 AM - Four squad cars are currently stationed at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston tending to a guy named Brian. From the reports coming across the airwaves, this leaves one squad car to patrol all of Rogers Park this morning. No news on who Brian is - and what caused Brian to even be at St. Francis Hospital in the first place. But rest assured, he's well protected.
Update - 7:30AM: Police are now clearing from St. Francis Hospital.
Update - 8:00AM: It sounds like Brian is now listed as a prisoner and was cited for a DUI.

Actually Brian wen't to St.Francis after Officers arrived to a Burglary in progress in the 6500 block of Lakewood and encountered this Drunk Loyola Student. This fine young college lad began to fight the police on scene and was subsequently tasered and transported to the hospital.
Can't wait to read the Loyola Campus Security Report on this honor role student.
What makes you think that there was only one squad car for all of Rogers Park if four were detailed to the hospital guarding this prisoner?
Go back and listen to the officer/dispatch radio communication between that period of time I posted. I heard the male dispatcher make that comment over the air.
Love the title of this post.....
Either you misunderstood what was being said or somebody was making a joke for the benefit of the civilians who listen to Police scanners. Or maybe one of the coppers was just commenting over the air in frustration because of some of the non-sensical jobs they had received. Each district has AT LEAST 12-15 beat cars at any given time. Now, having said that, they may have all been tied up on jobs which would have meant there was only one beat car available for assignment. As soon as those other cars completed their assignments they would have been available.
Insiders say some police districts are down to 10. Here's a CDP assignment sheet provided by SCC that shows on this day 024 was one of them.
I've heard many times over on the radio how short 024 is with cars down or officers riding around 10-99.
Don't come on here and tell me we are staffed "On the streets with enough police officers and cars, because we aren't.
"Insiders" say alot of things, doesn't mean they are true. I never said we were staffed to the proper levels but for you to suggest that because four cars were tied up at the hospital RP had only one beat car is disingenuious. And the work sheet(which can't be verified) that you use as an example is not even for RP, it's for another district. If I wanted to I could get the work sheets for RP, add a few names, post it here and then declare it as gospel. Would you believe that?
""Insiders" say alot of things, doesn't mean they are true."
Yeah, BigDaddy, that pretty much sums up your posts.
OK, then if you don't want my input or care to hear the truth,I'll bow out. You can get your information from people that don't know what they are talking about or do not have the complete story. Like when somebody post's the work sheets from the 011th District and tells you that they are from the 024th Distict. But what do I know? I'm just a long time "insider".
6500 Lakewood? Hey, I live there! This must be the incident that woke up my girlfriend (I was out of town) on a peaceful Saturday morning. She tells me that the kid was in just a t-shirt fighting 10 cops, who were tasering him over and over, and he still put up a huge struggle.
Apparently, he was trying to steal quarters out of the just-remodeled laundry.
If anyone can find a police report or send me the Loyola Campus Security Report on this incident, I would be incredibly appreciative.
Obviously dude, you have nothing to do with your time but listen to what the police are doing in the neighborhood & bash them. Why don't you put YOUR address or vicinity down & next time there is a call to help YOU, I am sure they will be too busy. Now, I am sure that you would find fault if there was only one car on this guy, saying that the police aren't doing enough.
So, my whole point is get a life (a real one, not one sitting by a scanner & pretending you are a cop) & pray that you don't need them to help you, because I pray that they can't & then you will learn to respect them.
