Heather Stearns and her husband know how the game works. To get something, you have to give something. It's called Pay-to-Play. Hell, this one's simple. We don't need to play 'six degrees of separation' this time around. The money trail goes from Point B to Public Official A.
Knowing now how Rod Blagojevich does business, for all this money the Stean's have ponied up to the top dog in the state, you gotta wonder what 'Hot Rod' promised the Steans' in return? A 7th District Senate chair perhaps?

Politically connected candidates:
William Quinlan, Blagojevich's general counsel, said after the hearing that Fitzgerald's office requested that the subpoenas remain confidential. A Fitzgerald spokesman declined to comment.
Blagojevich acknowledged in fall 2005 that the U.S. attorney in Chicago delivered subpoenas for hiring records to his office as well as the departments of Children and Family Services, Transportation and Corrections.
Shortly afterward, Blagojevich aides said they would no longer comment on subpoenas or the federal investigation.
The BGA sought copies of any subpoenas received in the first half of 2006.
The Associated Press has reported on documents that show top Blagojevich aides were choosing job seekers for posts that are supposed to be buffered from political considerations.
The AP also has reported that the administration got around choosing military veterans for jobs, as required by law, by hiring politically connected candidates as interns or in locations where the employee never worked.
Hopefully Heather and her hubby saved a few bucks for a good lawyer, just in case Mr. Fitzgerald & Co. have a bunch of questions to ask them in front of some Grand Jurors.
