Craig, last night a mob of 50 gang bangers were fighting in front of 7354 N. Damen. This happened about 11 p.m. The thuggery was going on inside and outside of the building. I called 911 and the cops came but no one I saw got arrested. Did you hear anything about it?
Blognotes: No I didn't.

2424 has CAPs meetings, but you can also go to the office next to Dominicks at Gateway to let them know on Monday or perhaps Tuesday if it is closed for MLK Day. Call 311 and ask to be tferred to CPD at the 24th District. Once there, ask for the neighborhood relations officer as well as the number if available for the CAPs office at Gateway.
I have discussed a few things, one of which was an arguable arrest of a client. The outcome was interesting and perhaps based upon my actions or that of the neighborhood officer. Than, again, it could have been luck.
I strongly suggest the call if you want to encourage extra squads in the area. One other point, take down the address, date, and time that the events take place. If you can identify the gangs involved, then this helps.
IBM was a part of _______. The x have recruited wannabes in the area. I suggest that you work out a means to call a credible officer at the 24th the moment it happens. Once there is a liaison, then the calls are taken more seriously upon notice.
The area residents are known to shoot a lot of blanks, that is unneeded 911 calls, due to ignorance, maturity, and poor parenting skills among victim and accused, alike.
A few neighbors have fears of kids simply because they are African Americans, wear doo rags, and may inappropriately cuss in public. Cussing in public is by no means limited to black teenagers. I guess you just have to pay attention. I may not enjoy the verbiage, but fortunately it tends to be more uncommon than it once was.
I suppose that it depends upon where you live in RP and whether kids are bragging, shooting hoops, downing beers, or gangbanging. I am about two to three blocks away and heard nothing last night as I left the house at 11:20 p.m.
