* Water Main Break @ 7600 North Marshfield

Chicago Police are doing their best to maintain safety around the 7600 North Marshfield area. But a water main break in the middle of the street isn't helping matters.

According to police scanner reports, this water main break was reported at 11:30 AM. Yet, as of 2:55 PM, nothing has been done to solve the matter. The officer wondered out loud over the air if it was going to take a student or teacher to get hurt before someone came out a fixed the break and stop the flooding. My guess is the officer is right.

More essential services being neglected while Da Mare diverts billions of tax$$$ to his monument building and TIFs.

How many watermain breaks does this make in one year, now?

We have a mayor who spends $5000 on curtains while the pipes are broken and the bathtub's backed up.

And we have a city council full of supine lay-down aldermen who second all his extravaganzas as long as he throws prizes their way.

6:30 p.m. No police, no road blocks, no Chicago Water Company employees in site. Water is bubbling up from the crack in the pavement. Street is icy from curb to curb. Surely to get worse as the night goes on.

Maybe it'll turn into a giant sinkhole by the morning? Wouldn't that be cool?

None of our pols care about ANYPLACE in the city beyond the tony precincts of Downtown, the South Loop, and Lincoln Park.

This used to be the City That Worked. When I arrived here, I was impressed by the relatively good infrastructure, the CTA, the relatively high level of service.

Now, we've fallen into line with the rest of the country in devoting the money from all citizens to making life very cushy for our elites, at taxpayer expense. The taxes are diverted to pol's crony plutocrats, while our services decay.

The water main leak on the 7600 block of north Marshfield Avenue. This emergency situation is in the heart of the Gale Elementary School campus, right between the old school building and the newer annex building. There's also lots of condos and 3-story apartment buildings there. Hmmmmm.

Guess what when the watermain break is fixed, joey moore will send out an e-mail saying how, "I" (joey) worked for the good of the ward to fix the problem.

Problems are not joeys doing, but when things get fixed, resolved then the I (joey) fixed them.

7:00 A.M. Thursday. Water is still coming up from the crack in the street. There may be a sinkhole developing, but it's hard to tell because of the ice that has formed. Still no water company employees in site. But we do have one traffic barricade now. Progress is being made.

Thanks for the updates. These don't come across the scanner.
