A man was stabbed and seriously wounded early Thursday in a confrontation with two other men outside a CTA Red Line station in Rogers Park, Chicago police said.
The victim, 25, was in a vehicle about 3:30 a.m. outside the Morse Avenue stop, 1358 W. Morse Ave., when the two suspects approached him and a fight broke out, police said. One of the assailants pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest.
His assailants ran from the scene and were still at large. Witnesses gave police only vague descriptions. The reason for the altercation was under investigation, but robbery did not appear to be a motive, police said.

Only a clueless moron or criminal would be on the Morse el platform at 3:30 am.
Or is this Joe Moore's fault?
Ask yourself why the criminal element is given the green light to use Morse Avenue as their own earning center and playground for the last decade.
If you want to blame Joe, go ahead.
Ah, but while he may have nearly bled to death, the victim was protected from the perilous foi gras due to the diligent legislation of alderman moore! I live less than a block from the Morse El platform. The area surrounding it is infested with indigants, prostitutes, crackheads, neer du wells, gangbangers, panhandlers and other scum that chronically plague the area. Rather charging the police to agressively enforce the public ways ordinance and provide safe haven to the tax paying constituents of the 49th ward, joe moore seeks to spoon feed this SCUM with programs such as set aside housing further enabling them to infest our communities. We are already providing a social safety net with sufficient programs to assist these individuals who plague this area. Unfortunately, the passive law enforcement practiced in the 1200-1600 blocks of Morse Avenue, at the BLESSING of Alderman Moore, incubate enablement and rampant crime.
The only time in the past 15 years that the area of the Morse red Line stop has been scum free was when the 24th district of the Chicago Police utilized a vacant business as a sattelite police station. While it was initially not succesful in discourageing the indigant traffic that plagues this area, it became HIGHLY EFFECTIVE after someone-suspected to be one indigants who plague the area, threw a brich through its window one night. Ironically, the 24th District held the role call for the following afternoons shift in front of their kiosk storefront with the damaged window. Even more ironically, for the next several months; the balance of the lease of that temporary program, the area of the Morse El stop was nearly crime and indigant free. This program was discontinued despite the outcry of small business owners and residents of the area. When asked, why Alderman Morre shrugged his shoulders stating that it was a temporary program which there was no funding to continue. But at least we are protyected from foi gras.
I live a couple blocks away and I've been around the Morse ave CTA station (coming home) at all hours. I've never encountered ANY problems.
There has to be a reason the men approached the person in the car. I mean, why was that guy hanging out there in the car anyhow?
(I know I don't have all the information to judge)
I was waiting to see if any lurkers were paying attention to the area. No one asked if the Chicago Police Pod Camera caught the action on video.
After all, isn't that what those so-called leaders and propagandists told us the camera was suppose to do?
Or perhaps, billyjoe, someone was going to or from work that time of morning. A lot of malcontents hang around the Morse 'L, but there are people who are there for legitimate reasons, too.
I have emailed the alderman's office several times complaining about the Morse L stop and the "trash" on the street around it. Why should the rest of us have to be scared to walk to the L? I notice they are all not so big and tough when I walk through with 180 lbs of dogs!
Listening to the scanner in Rogers Park for over a year now I have to wonder how anyone could use the Morse El with any consistency and not encounter any problems, ever. I suppose I'd count myself damned lucky....
I noticed the new owners of the Block Buildings are starting to rent the apartments again on the Morse Street side. If their Tacky looking For Rent sign is any reflection of the type of tenants they are going to rent to, we are in BIG trouble. Thought they planned to convert. Looks like it is going to be the Same Song, Same Dance...
Don't judge a book by it's cover... or a building by it's sign. It's just text.
The building did a major renovation. The windows are such an improvement. From the looks of things, rent may be higher but I heard it was going to be reasonable. I also heard that previous Ryder tenants didn't have leases and no-security deposit requirement. It would be in their best interest to keep it in the best condition with good tenants.
